Man, I pity any Astro who has a down year in 2020. Regardless of the truth, they'll be seen as benefitting from the cheating. Up next: Someone finds a way to claim the pitching coaches somehow cheated as well.
Might as well fully bend over and give back the title while you’re at it, Crane. Way to have your team’s back you ****ing asskisser.
I am shocked Crane fired them. I am all for winning the right way and doing thing with class. Kudos for Crane. I know I'm probably in the minority but it is time to get a clean slate. It's going to be tough getting a mind like Luhnow to run the team. I know this was hard for Crane.
Ummmmm... I don't know how to feel about this. Lunhow is the best GM in the league and Hinch is a top 5 manager. Awful day for the organization. On the other hand you have to have some big brass balls to fire those two. I feel this was a emotional overreaction on Crane's part though.
Who is to say there wasn't a threat by Manfred that basically forced Cranes hand. Fire them or we vacate your title.
Let's look at the silver lining: At least James Harden isn't portrayed as a cheater by the national media.
Crane probably felt compelled to do something with everything that has happened since the fiasco in the locker room after the ALCS and now the investigation into cheating. Even though I wasn't one of Hinch's biggest fans I do think he is the most shafted in all of this and I genuinely feel bad for him.
I've hesitated to talk about the Houston Sports curse for the past few years after the Astros seemed to have broken it. Even though there were obvious signs it still existed since then (2019 World Series, the Texans yesterday, Chris Paul's Hamstring, etc.) But nope, the curse can't be broken. I fear that winning the World Series was a cosmic mistake, that's only strengthened its resolve. We're in for a rough couple decades fellas.
