Can't score. Does not play D. Does not rebound.

Can't think of anything he can do. Is he the worst player in the NBA?

    Wasn't he a lottery pick?

From last night's game I realized that he's just soft.
Especially considering his size and better than decent athleticism.

If you are 6'10 or taller and you can walk and chew gum at the same time, some NBA team will give you a chance. With that being said, this is Hilton Armstong's 4th season and is now on his 3rd team. He looks like nothing more than trade filler at this point.

At least we didn't waste a lotto pick on him like NO did.

One game does not reflect a career. However, I was hoping Armstrong would be a usable backup for Yao. After watching him play last night, my hopes have diminished considerably. We still need a young, tall, athletic defensive center to back up Yao like Deke did. At this juncture, if we can't find one in the draft, I'm looking more favorably at Marcus Camby.

Before the season I thought Dexter Pittman might be worth a look. Then he went on to suck bad this year.

Didn't we say the same thing about brian cook and before that luther head?

Basically every team has at least one of these kind of players that aren't nba fit.

Like you I though Pittman might be a sleeper. He is -- just not in a good way. If Pittman wakes up and actually learns to use the tools he has, he still will be lucky if some team takes him in the second round.

Assuming our pick comes at #12, #13 or #14, the center choices will be limited to Aldrich (if he falls that far), Whiteside or Alabi. The rest are power forwards, and there is no sense discussing Cousins. Maybe there is a dark horse center in Europe or South America of whom I am unaware or perhaps Morey has his eyes on a young center like Amir Johnson or Kyroly Fysenko (FAs) or DeAndre Jordan (Clips) or Marcin Gortat (Magic).

The comparison to Luther Head is not even remotely fair. Luther Head is a very good spot up three-point shooter. So he at least has an NBA-caliber skill, if not an NBA-caliber complete game.

I believe that large gentlman is Jerome James, who was the beneficiary of a 6-yr, $18 million contract courtesy of Isaiah Thomas.

People here were really tough on the kid. He was a great shooter but couldn't dribble the ball, I blame JVG for using him wrong.

More like 5 years $30 million, when he'd played well for literally one playoff series (Sonics vs. Kings 2005) and had been total crap before and after that.

Why is Hilton Armstrong allowed to live as a human being?

Damn. The $18 mil is what the Sonics gave him, and he promptly went on to suck until a mediocre playoff series. Then Isaiah gave him $30 mil? So Jerome James earned $50 million in his career despite not contributing a freaking thing.

I am glad someone made this thread. Poor Hilton is our new Brian Cook. He is just another sad stiff who looks completely lost anytime he is on the floor and palys a desperate, pathetic style as he labors under the pressure of a burdensome contract he didn't ask for, but also didn't earn. it's a bad situation for a player who lacks confidence to be in. Sadly, the most he can aspire to is cheerleader or scapegoat.
