I am a huge Eagles fan and a frequent poster on their message board. Here is a great poem that a poster made on the Eagles victory against the Bucs. They Talked all that smack But what can you say You Came to talk We came to play Sapp flaps his big gums And Keshawn just whines The Eagles they Spank us Time after time And Brad Johnson got banged up He should end his career He could always sell corn For a Buck-An-Ear So you got rid of Dungy And you brought in Chucky You say you won 5 I Say you were lucky And for all your trash talking We made you look silly Because What ever you do The Bucs still Stops in PHILLY
I was laughing my a$$ off listening to WMMR coming home tonight: "Eagles ran through the Suckaneers offensive line like looters in a Best Buy."
You're kidding, right? They own the Bucs, and just because the Eagles have had their bye week doesn't make them worse.
Well, I wouldn't argue that the Rockets were better if the records were 40-19 and 39-19 either. The Eagles are better than the Bucs.
In 1994 the Sonics were 63-19, the Rockets were 58-24. The Bucs are better than the Eagles. I think this is finally their year. The upcoming schedule doesn't hurt either.
Well, you could argue that the Sonics were a better team and just got upset. I think it's a lot harder to argue that the Bucs are better than the Eagles, especially considering the only argument you have is that the Eagles have had their bye week and the Bucs haven't.
I would also argue that the Bucs have a better defense and that the Bucs losses came against opponents that lead their divisions while the Eagles lost to a couple of teams, neither of which can manage to lead the pathetic NFC south. I would say that the teams are roughly equal, but I would bet on Tampa being better if they both played the exact same schedule. Tampa just doesn't seem to match up well with the Eagles. The Bucs O-line is terrible and the Eagles blitzing defense runs right through it. Meanwhile the Eagles blew the game open after Warren Sapp was poked in the eye and forced to leave the game.
It's called a bye week. The Eagles will kill the Giants last week. We have knocked the Bucs out for 2 straight years. The Eagles are better then the Bucs and they own the Bucs!
So, basically you're arguing that one of the Bucs losses came to a crappy team. Which is it-are the Eagles a division leader or are they a crappy team? It can't be both.
Another thing is the Eagles don't just own them in the regular season, but they own them in the playoffs. The Eagles go further in the playoffs then the Bucs do every year. The Eagles are clearly the better team. The Bucs offense is terrible.
RM95, No, I never said the Eagles were a crappy team. I think they are one of the top three teams in the NFC with the Saints and the Bucs. I even said in my previous post that they are about as good as the Bucs. TRSF3, I have already admitted that the Eagles have the Bucs number, even giving my opinion as to why they lose to the Eagles. You must have a short memory though if you think the Eagles always go further in the playoffs. I seem to recall the Bucs losing to the Rams in the NFC champiojnship based on a BS rule that they changed the next year. Most of the Eagles wins over the Bucs have happened at the Vet. It will be interesting to see what happens in the playoffs this year.
