How many miles (mostly highway), can a well-maintained F-150 accumulate before breaking down? Have you seen one that's lasted for 350,000 miles?

I bought an '02 back in 2006 and it had about 110k on it. My dad uses it now and it's well past 220k miles. Those trucks last a long time.

Have I seen one, yes. Is it common to last 350 without a rebuild. No.

A well maintained F-150 can get 300,000 miles. The key is that it has been properly serviced. My cousin has a 92 with 280,000 miles on it. He has had to repair the electrical and other issues but the engine is original.

The '97 F250 has 250K, the last 100K have been hard ranch miles. Great truck.

As long as it's on pavement, you are correct.

I know a guy who leads a band and they travel in a Ford van. The thing had just over 400k miles when I last talked to him early the past summer.

I'm on my second f150, taxi cabs and cop cars had the modular 4.6. F150s had the 5.4 and some 6.2 modular engines. Same design and dependable engine. Other things like transmission will fell before a taken care of modular takes a ****.

Toyota trucks are more expensive, get less gas mileage, and aren't as proven as Ford and GM trucks. I don't know why people buy them other than they just hate American made cars. Ford and GM trucks last 200K miles easy which is a lot longer than most people keep their cars.

There are tons of pickups out there with 200,000+ miles out there. Heck, there are lots of cars with that much out there. I just sold one. lol. Getting to 350,000 may be a bit more luck and proper maintenance, but I've heard of people just pumping gas and changing the oil on pickups that pushed them over 200,000 miles. They didn't do anything to baby them. Of course there are those that also got 200,000 miles on them after replacing transmissions and repairing everything out the wazoo, so ...

Toyota trucks are (mostly) America made and Toyota in general is a dependable brand sooo....

I don't hate Ford or GM, but I've bought two Tacomas already and if I went full-size I'd lean Tundra because I love their line of trucks. Ford and GM aren't the be all to end all.

Not sure about the longevity of F-150s. I've had friends who've had them and they didn't last much past 100k. Some fell short of even hitting that mark. Others will beat up F-150s that won't stop no matter what. Just depends on driving habit, maintenance, and sheer luck.

Only have personal experiences with Silverados. My current is a 96 2500 with a 5.7 Vortec. Just rolled over 300k yesterday. Still pulls like it was fresh off the lot.

I've occasionally hauled stuff across the state, but I haven't towed anything.
