Stros looking for another pitcher? http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/...olgirl-drafted-by-pro-team?MSNHCHCP>1=39002 Japanese schoolgirl drafted by pro team TOKYO (AP) - A 16-year-old schoolgirl is making a pitch to become the first woman to play professional baseball in Japan. High school student Eri Yoshida was drafted by the Kobe 9 Cruise, a professional team in a new independent Japanese league that starts its first season in April. "I always dreamed of becoming a professional," Yoshida said at a news conference Monday. "I have only just been picked by the team and haven't achieved anything yet." Yoshida, a right-hander who is 5 feet and 114 pounds, throws a sidearm knuckleball and wants to emulate Boston Red Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. Yoshida threw a hitless inning against male batters during a tryout this month and was among 33 players picked in the draft.
I knew even before reading a word of the article... that she was throwing a knuckle ball. If you have absolutely zero arm strength, and no real physical gifts whatsoever... but you want to play professional baseball... learn how to throw a knuckle ball. Its not like its easy... but the human body is likely capable of learning any crafty skill over 5-10 years as long as you try/practice long enough (and that includes surgery, golf, knitting, typing, and sex).
huh, what? high school girl? Spoiler i'm just saving everyone the trouble. because you guys are soooo damn clever and funny.
