Is there anything besides DSL, AT&T Broadband or Charter in the DFW area? I can't get the last two at my apartment, and Southwestern Bell can't tell me until my phone line is active, which won't be until Friday-the day I move. I can't move to an apartment without high speed, so I won't move into this place if I don't know for sure ahead of time. So, am I missing any provider in that area?
DoD would probably know better than me, but I have never heard of any other high speed providers here in Dallas other than the three you listed.
Try this: http://www.dslreports.com/ Type in your zip code in the "Check for broadband in:" box up top... good luck.
Why can't you? Because your an Internet addict who must hang out as this forum 24x7 ? Prepare for withdrawal symptoms. Or do you have some legit reason?
Go to the apartments and ask people that live there. Ask the apartment complex owners/staff. If someone there has it, you're probably safe since you both would share the same CO and more than likely the same DSLAM. The online search engines aren't always accurate, so don't rely on those alone.
The apartment owner is calling for me (doesn't want to give me a number of one of the residents). I didn't really trust him since he told me that they were all definitely available.
Help! I need high-speed internet access. My apartment has cable sockets, but I don't subscribe. DSL or cable would be fine (is there really a difference? help!). We called the apartment front desk for suggestions and they weren't much help ... Anyone have any suggestions?
Yeah, call the cable company and the phone company that services you. The phone company may be able to get you DSL and the cable company may be able to get you cable modem service.
