So... We did a combo 90/91 reunion this year. Tonight's was at Etro downtown. We reserved the 2nd floor. Good news was everyone recognized me, including the ones I didn't. Question is whether I should go to the 2nd reunion tomorrow with a $50 entry fee... I think it's lame as hell.
I never go. I talk to exactly two people I went to HS with and one of them wasn’t in my class. Neither I talk to on a weekly basis.
What's everyone's opinions on high school / college reunions? I'm sure there's varying opinions based on different factors (if you had a good time in high school, your class year, etc). I graduated HS in the late 00s and I don't care to see any of my high school classmates again...but that's just me. And I don't think my opinion will ever change.
Next year is my 30th. Never been to one. As former Class President I'm supposed to be involved but I haven't talked to HS people for...checks watch...30 years
I’ve never been to one and I never will go to one. It gets to a point where everyone from your class looks like hell and it’s just depressing.
When they were learning Macbeth, the soundtrack was Van Halen. As far as reunions go, I graduated high school about 16 years ago and have not been to a reunion. I switched high schools my junior year. Moved across country. I'd rather associate with the pre move high school, but haven't been invited. Facebook has really sucked the air out of reunions, I'd say.
I would pay good money to see FFB at a high school reunion.... Never been to mine. Most of my friends were either a year ahead of me or a year behind me. Didn't really hang out with anyone in my actual class. Truth is, I've always thought HS reunions were kind of....well....sad and pathetic. I already keep in touch with several of my good friends from high school. I don't really feel the need to see anyone else I don't already keep in touch with.
There's maybe 1 person from my class I still speak with. Most of my friends were older or younger and still are. Went to my 20th and didn't stay long. I really didn't like very many people I graduated with at all. Actually the one I do talk to now, I wasn't that close with during high school. There's no benefit at all to them and I certainly won't be going to my 30th once it rolls around in 2023.
