Hey, Yo, Yao! We know that you are disgusted and all, but...can you take the ball to the defender in stead of fading away from contact? We know you can do it occasionally, but can you do it more consistently? Ya know, taking the ball to the basket.

Oh, you worry about fouls not called? How about some drop step to the rim and dunk the ball? No touch foul can alter that shot. I thought the best center in the game would be able to do that, at least once a game or every other game? Or is it too much to ask for? Please do tell us.

Yeah, if Yao would DOMINATE like a 7 ft. 6 in. big man is supposed to, plus add in the finesse talent he has (passing ability and mid-range shooting ability), then it would make the team a whole lot better. Other players would have to start playing better.

Oh, also the big word is CONSISTENCY.

We've all seen how DOMINATE you can be YAO, "JUST DO IT!"

IF YAO DOMINATES (AVG 30/15), like Shaq did, then WE HAVE NO MORE EXCUSES!

I want YAO to look like this 24/7 ----->

Yeah it doesn't seem like he is using baseline spins, power moves, etc as much this year. It could be because of more swarming defense and fear of foul trouble. After his injury last year he couldn't do these moves effectively and maybe he forgot about them a little bit. Using those moves more often is great for raising points per shot (from extra free throws), but may raise his turnovers from losing the ball more and offensive fouls. I really like the hook shot he has used more with the help of CD.

How about a more simpler request? REBOUND THE DANG BALL?! Thats one place he can show his teammates that he is trying and set an example! Shots may or may not fall but your defensive effort should always be there!! This should apply to ALL the Rockets players including Yao. Its good to see Yao get pissed off at his teammates for lack of energy/effort, but 6 rebounds in 40+ min is a prime example of what he is complaining about.

No shame in dunking every time down... if you can do it.

I thought Rick's offense is also preventing Yao from doing power moves under the basket. I think we've seen Yao take outside shots more times this year than in all of his years under JVG combined.

Did you EVEN watch him play?

He had been slam dunking at least once in every of his games. He even did a couple of these running dunks, i.e. running in from the high post into the middle lane to receive pass from his team mates to dunk it over the heads of his opponents.

first off yao doesn't establish deep enough postion these days when he receives post passes. this means it requires more than a couple dribbles or steps for yao to make a strong move to the basket, which, coupled with the fact that yao's too slow, gives too much time for double team to come and stop his move. so it's either a turnover or an offensive foul before he can get the shot off...missing more dunks than he should doesn't help his confidence either. in the end turnaround or fadeaway or hook shot is proably the safest way to get a shot off and it's decent % too. it's his bread and butter. deal with it.

You only saw that yao didn't get rebounds but didn't see the guards just let their man though and yao had to go to cover? He needs 2 more legs and 2 more hands to try to block a mid-range jumper and get the rebound at the same time.

it's gonna be offensive foul every single time if he takes it to the basket, he is 7'6, so he doesn't move like a SF, and someone can easily steal the ball.

I saw the IDLEMAN coach's success of turning Yao to Divac, at least in terms of the distance from the basket. Congratulations.

You think this board is like the Rockets team? Tmac lovers blame Yao and Yao lovers blame Tmac and dissension fills the bbs. Why can't we all just get along.

I'm talking about power moves to the basket, not catching it under basket and dunk it in or off pick-and-roll. He does do his power moves once in while, which I acknowledge, but way not enough. Read, pryuen, read.

If you are taking me as a Tmac lover, you are solely mistaken. That's all I have to day about your post.

Unbelieveable excuses... I didn't see Yao defend mid range jumpers anymore than any other center in this league. Stop making lame excuses. 6 REBOUNDS IS RIDICULOUS.

If only you YOFs could make half as many excuses for TMac because he does so much more than Yao on the floor, this msg board would be so much more pleasant.

Well, in this read-and-react motion offense system of Rick Adelman, he had been taken out of his comfort zone, and stay at least 50% of his time in the high post....

Yeah he is supposedly to do more of his power moves to the basket. But where is the rock ? Alot of time, he received the ball, but immediately he would have been fronted or double-teamed; he passed the ball and repositioned again, but his team mates were not reposting him again. So where is the rock for him to do more of his power moves?

ppl have their own capabilities. You dont expect yao as a quick mover. ppl already realized that he's not a rebound machine like camby or KG or DW. 6 borads, so what? you think that's ridiculours becuase you are ridiculous yourself. KG or DW or camby never got less than 6 boards?

I am not a YOF, your quotes are targetless. I am a basketball fan. plus, I dont use word like "you XXXs" to a single person, I dont classify ppl.
