Now that we have got to see him play I was wondering what your opinion of him is so far. Maybe I am still a little steamed about that last stupid shot he took that lost us the game, but throughout the preseason I really have not liked the way he plays. He looks clumsy and uncomfortable with the ball and sometimes it seems he is just one step away from constantly getting the ball stolen from him. Oh well its still preseason and its OK but I wanted to know what your opinion on his gameplay is.

IpbMan:- That wasn't very kind of you, considering he is one of our 0/2 draft picks!

Poorly. Based on what he has brought to the court till now. I am not sure if its the rust of not having played a year or this is his skill level.

Tierre did well for himself tonite, and actually another such games will make him a surety. Torres is also doing ok. COme to think of it, Tito might be in trouble. If not, he stays in IR for a long, long time.

When Tito was scouted for the team the report was that he has a knack for penetrating to the middle and dishing to a cutter, also that he is a good defender.

He hasn't played basketball for over a year because the NCAA said he was inelligible. Therefore, he has A LOT of RUST!!!

But' I think he is showing us EXACTLY what our scouts reported of him. Last night AND against the Suns he showed DEFENSIVE HUSTLE.(more so than any of our other guards)
He also showed how well he can penetrate and dish. Whoever he passed to didn't see it coming and wasn't able to finish. That will be cured once his team gets to know him.

I'm not a family member of his but I REALLY SEE A LOT OF POTENTIAL in him. I think HE WILL GET PT IN FRONT OF OT by the end of the season. If you give him some time to workout the rust with his team I think you will be VERY happy with his output.;)

Eventually Tito will be a good addition for the Rockets, but right now he is just too painful to look at. Shaving his head and seeing an orthodonist will help his play by removing his Medusa complex. Once he does that his teammates will not be afraid to look at him and thereby see the passes coming.:D

I am not real impressed with Tito. He seems to be unsure of himself. He doesn't look like he is under control.

He will have a difficult time making this team. Tierre Brown, Terrance Morris, and Oscar Torres have each shown more than Tito this preseason. Rudy will have some tough decisions before the season starts.

What exactly has he been doing for the last year?? He could have been playing some pick-up games, practiced shooting lay-up's, or maybe even considered getting a hair cut. I mean seriously, Tito is the most ghetto looking player in the NBA. :D

I really do hope he turns out to be a good player though; we could use some defensive intensity.

Thumbs, that is too funny!!! Medusa complex, lol.
Griffin to Maddox, Maddox looks to pass...

DoD was right...I heard maddux was such a defensive find, but was a little bewildered at how Dr of Dunk basically said he isn't showing anything too worthy in the Summer leagues...

You guys are slipping. An appropriate early response to this thread would have been:

    Who is TiDo Maddux?

Now, on a completely unrelated note, did you guys see TiTo Maddux last night? He really seems to be improving.

    :D

    See?!?

Actually, since I can't watch the games, I'll reiterate what I saw in the summer leagues from Tito :

    1) Ability to explode on the break - possibly better than any current Rocket. Pushed the ball like he was possessed at times.

    2) Penetrated at will (against inferior competition, but hey...).

    3) His penetrations often ended in confusion, broken plays, and/or turnovers. When I say "often" I do mean "often". Once Tito got into the paint there'd be no telling what would happen.

    4) Didn't show a solid jumper. If he had it, he hid it.

    5) Played respectable-to-good defense, but wasn't anything great.

    6) Tierre's play in the SPL blew Tito's out of the water. It wasn't even close. On a scale of 1-10 Tierre was a 7-8 and Tito was a 4-5 at best.

I live in Dallas, so I haven't watched the pre-season games, but pay close attention to Tito's drives. Does it still seem like he can get into the paint at will, but then his basketball IQ just drops about 50 points once in there?

The first time I flipped to a Rockets preseason game this year he was in, and I thought it was some really old guy that was just taking roster space until the start of the season. He looks so old and ghetto it isn't funny!

If someone can penetrate at will we'd better keep him!

I don't think he's doing that bad. Seems to be improving each game. In time, I think he could be a good floor general. He can be out of control at times, but considering he hasn’t really played organized basketball for a while, it’s understandable. Hopefully, with some coaching and experience he can improve his decision making.

He reminds me A LOT of Tubby Smith's Kid from Kentucky for some reason, he seems really weak and scared when he brings the ball up...his passing is really disappointing. The last few plays of yesterday's game really bothered me, there were guys open and he didn't pass it to them, just threw it up...

Come to think of it, Tito doesn't seem to be more erratic than Cuttino first came into the league. There's always room to improve. I prefer a backup point guard who passes first and shoots second, as well as creating by their natural playmaking abilities, as opposed to by scoring prowess. There's no enough shots on the current squad.

    Tierre>Tito easily..

Tito is just way outta control..defense hasnt been very impressive
Tierre looks much more composed and sure of what he's doin out there.
With TMo out for 4-6, look for Tito,Tierre and Oz to get plenty of pt for a while. Once Mooch and TMo get back..Tito will live on the IR until a guard injury..hope fully we have none.

Based on the play of the pre games, Tito and Collier and possibly Boki to the IR for a while.

DoD, he does get the drive easily...but cant seem to figger out what to do once he gets there.. Did anyone else notice how quick the Portland D would slap a trap on Tito? Like they knew that he couldnt deal with it very well..

Mooch needs to watch his back, Tierre is lookin alot better than him for the backup point...Anyone that has seen the game agree or no?
