Ya know, before I have always defended Shaq's antics and comments. But these really piss me off. What a bunch of chicken bleep!!!

Kudos to Bobby Jackson and Bibby for taking the high road.

Shaq says Iverson, not Bibby, belongs on Olympic team
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Associated Press

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Shaquille O'Neal hasn't even committed to play for the next U.S. Olympic team, and he already has opinions about who shouldn't be on the roster: Mike Bibby.

As if the Los Angeles Lakers' rivalry with the Sacramento Kings needed any more vitriol, Shaq provided some in the days before the three-time defending champions' final regular season trip to Cowbell Country on Thursday night.

At issue is the Olympic team's selection of Bibby, the Kings' quietly efficient point guard. He played the best basketball of his NBA career during last season's epic Western Conference finals against the Lakers -- but O'Neal apparently wasn't impressed.

"How did Mike Bibby get on the team?'' Shaq wondered aloud. "Any Cub Scout with Boy Scouts can do Boy Scoutish things. When (Bibby) was in the Cub Scouts, he was a Cub Scout. When he was with Vancouver, nobody heard about (him). Now that he's with Sacramento ... he's on the team. I ain't going.

"And Allen Iverson isn't on the team? Why not? (U.S. coach) Larry Brown should have said, 'If he's not on the team, I'm not going.'''

After the Kings' victory over Golden State on Tuesday night, Bibby refused to take the bait. Though he has become much more vocal on and off the court during his two seasons in Sacramento, Bibby prefers living in relative anonymity -- and doing his talking on the court.

"I don't care what he says about me,'' Bibby said. "I don't care what anybody says. It's not going to affect me.''

"That's just talk from a guy who likes to talk,'' Sacramento's Bobby Jackson said. "Nobody cares. You can't listen to everything he says. Even he don't listen to everything he says.

"Shaq is looking to get the rivalry started already, before the playoffs even start. He has no right to criticize Mike about making the Olympic team.''

So, Shaq disrespects the Olympics, admits the reason he didn't get surgery over the offseason was so he could "have a vacation," offends millions of Chinese people, and now picks on Mike Bibby for what appears to be no reason at all. What a clown.

"Better to be thought a fool, then to open one's mouth and be proven one."

    Thanks for the proof Shaq!

Shaq, feel free to mix in a little humility, dignity and class with your "jokes" every now and again.

For someone that looked up to Hakeem and talked about how much he liked how Hakeem was honorable and classy, Shaq sure does not seem to take the same path.

When the other members of the team so far include Jason Kidd, Ray Allen, Tracy McGrady and Tim Duncan he d**n sure should be taken over Iverson.

Shaq's comment doesn't change my opinion of him at all. It's as low as it ever was. :D

If I remember correctly, didn't AI pass the ball pretty frequently in the All-Star game?

AI's a victim of being on a 1 man team, put him on the Kings, and they'll win just as many games if not more than what they currently do with Bibby.

Tell us , who is Allen supposed to pass to on that team, and since they have aquired Keith Van Horn, he has been passing to him, Also tell us this, would Bibby have carried that same team to the Finals on his back two years ago.

Allen Iverson on the Kings? Ha. They would definitely beat any team in the freakin league.

Bibby on the 76ers? Ha. They would be great....

Allen Iverson should be in the Olympics. I don't know if he wants to go though....

Shaq......well he dissed all the centers in the league. He criticized his own teammates. He loves to talk. Not a problem. Quite amusing...he's a Laker. He hates the Kings. The Kings can hate him too.

I would rather see FRANCIS on the Olympic team....

Sorry, but I agree with Shaq. The selection of Bibby onto that team is a joke.

If Shaq does join the Olympic team, would you also agree that you should publically criticize a future teammate? Especially the guy who will be in charge of getting you the ball down low?

Well, there's definitely no chance that he'd join the Olympic team, so your question is moot. In fact, I think the only reason he's criticizing the selection is because of that. However, him not being on the team for the coach selection, that I have a huge problem with. I've never looked at him the same since.

Yeah...what's your point? He's right! Anyone who thinks Mike Bibby is a better player than Allen Iverson is either smoking something at the time of thought or is really stupid. The guy has one good playoffs and he's catapulted into superstardom. Umm...He's still only averaging about half what Iverson is averaging in points. And team player? he's averaging less assists than Francis yet we call Francis selfish yet Bibby is a team player.

He didn't deserve that 80 million dollar contract and neither does he deserve to be on the USA nat'l team. He's this decade's Christian Laetner (remember? he was on the original DREAM TEAM!). I fail to see how Bibby would have more to offer the team than Iverson.
