Ever heard of a double team?

Why did he put Kenny Thomas on Jumaine O'neal, when he was making every single hook shot he took tonight? Why? Why didn't he have him double teamed? Why didn't he put in 7 foot Kelvin Cato or 7 foot Kevin Willis? Why did he rely on an undersized power forward to stop a seven foot tall player who was killing them all night? Why?

That was a pathetic and inexcusable loss, and I blame Rudy for it. Yes, the players failed to make open shots with the pressure on, but it was Rudy's fault that they had the pressure to deal with in the first place. Eddie Griffin dominated the second quarter, and helped the Rockets outscore the Pacers by 14. What did Rudy do? He waited until the Rockets had all but blown a ten point lead to put their hottest player in, and not surprisingly, he was ice cold.

The whole game was filled with questionable coaching moves. Why did Walt play the entire third quarter when he was 0-8? Why didn't he put Kelvin Cato back in the game during the fourth quarter? He was having one of his rare good games. Why didn't Rudy call a time-out in the third quarter, when the momentum was shifting, and the Rockets were getting technicals called on them repeatedly? I am so sick of losing, and injuries were NOT an excuse today. This is the team they are going to have for the rest of the season.

Oh, and why did he start Kenny Thomas? Don't give me that crap about players playing through injuries to insure that they don't get benched. Eddie has far outplayed Kenny Thomas as a starter, and he deserves to start.

Another frustrating loss that shouldn't have been.

I think Rudy will showcase KT and Walt, and they will both be gone by the trading deadline.

Rather than waste valuable server space and cite the entire quote, let me just say I agree w/ every point in the thread starter's post.

DD, I hope you're right, but I'm not sure who will trade for an 0 for 10 shooting Wizard.
    :(

Yeah, we're trading all those guys for Antonio McDysse (sp?) or Raef Lafrenze...

Damn, why do all the guys we want have weird names....Let's trade for Joe Smith!

Walt's value is the fact that his contract is up at the end of this year.

Collier and Langhi have no trade value. Let's keep them as we are committted to Collier through next season anyway. He may become a Sabonis like player- huge at 7' with a good shot, and Langhi a fast moving player away from the ball with a deadly shot like Reggie Miller. We did not want Sam Cassell for 3 mil per year, we signed Moochie for 3mil per year-see what we can get for young Norris, buy out Cato's contract, collect the insurance for this season from the Glen Rice injury, and sue the Knicks in the Harris County courthouse for selling us damaged goods they represented as marketable.

I don't think the reason we lost was necessarily Rudy's fault alone, I think it was mainly because Houston lost their cool on a couple of blown calls. That right there gave them a couple of points that gave them the win. Had that not happened, we could have easily gone into overtime, if not come away with a win.
