How bad is it down there in Washington? We (Pennsylvania) already have about 5 inches and it's coming down real heavy now. Lots of accidents and injuries here. I like snow, but not this much of it
we've got around 3 or so here as of now...but its getting heavier...supposedly getting around 6-8 looks like 2 hours of sledding in the backyard with my 5 year old when i get home i actually cant wait to go sledding!
I live in the suburbs of Philly and already have had a few inches of slow. It is still coming down hard. I am off of school today.
In New Jersey we have about 3-4 inches down right now. A meteorologist I know for an NY radio station e-mailed me and told me we should have about 8-10 inches. I hope this doesn't slow down the mailman...he has to deliver an SI and FOF4
We got a good dumping from this system as it went through Northern New Mexico. Tomorrow's my first day of skiing!
In Vancouver there is NO SNOW Nothin in Whistler either I'm leavin for Guatamala for 6 months on Jan. 1...and I MUST SNOWBOARD! PLEASE SNOOOOOW. Stupid Sun.
Very cool. I spent 6 weeks down there about 4 years ago. Why six months? What are you doing? Guatemala was my favorite of the central american countries, but since you're there, you'll want to travel to Honduras too. Roatan, Tegucigalpa, Copan shouldn't be missed. Take the overnight bus to Tikal if you're feeling lucky. First a post about the Netherlands, and now references to Guatemala -- gotta get on a plane soon... PS -- I'm in Vancouver too, and have never seen so little snow at Whistler at this time of year. PPS -- Once you get bored of the Board, learn to Ski and come play with the big boys.
I'm going to Guatamala doing some mission work at the same time as taking some university courses. I'll be in Tikal for about 2 weeks, but most of the time i'll be around Antigua. I spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica 2 years ago and loved it...been to Haiti, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and the Virgin Islands each for a few days as well. Honduras is something i'll definately consider. Thanks. RE: PPS - I love skiing, lots of fun, I'm better at skiing than I am at snowboarding. But I just started usin the board last year (went about 25 times) and loved it, definately wanna continue...though i also don't wanna lose my skiin skills.
All this snow talk and I still don't feel like a wuss complaining about sub 40 degree weather on an overcast day! See how confident I am in my masculinity and the effects that cold weather have on it.
It's snowing like a sonofabitch in Manhattan. Like the other NE posters said, accumulation will be around 6-8 inches. The storm is so thick that UPS and FedEx did NOT deliver here today. In fact, my boss came by and said we can leave at 2:00 today (that's 1:00 CST to you Houston folk)! Unfortunately, I have subject lists, hitlists, and projections to do, so I can't leave early. However, there is a decent chance that work will be canceled tomorrow... Think I'll stay by the radio tonight and listen to the school closings report. Maybe... just maybe... they'll list businesses, too.
We spent the first 2 weeks in and around Antigua. It is just a fantastic place. A beautiful city with very friendly people, and lots of students and travellers too -- many of the Spanish classes are available for credit in US Universities. You are very fortunate. Enjoy your trip, and good luck with your mission work.
We've got about 6 inches here and it's still coming down. IN DC that means chaos. We still have a lot of plowing to do. DC is so petrified of snow and the public reaction to it that we sprinkle blue powder to prove we "plowed" a street. Too funny.
