I know I have asked this before, but we need something to spark this team, Mack might be it, or . . . maybe not.

Whose veterans and bright news stars, thro' the perilous playoffs,
O'er the compaq center we watch'd, were so gallantly playing?
And the ROCKETS' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our team was still there.

Apparently he has been sitting and waiting while for:

    1. The Rockets to up their offer to three years guaranteed from the two with three at team option at around $2M per year that is presently on the table. My guess is they won't up it. They may even withdraw it.

    2. Continue to wait for several offers from other interested parties to take root, and give the Rockets a chance to Sign and Trade him with a present roster player. My guess is those offers are being met with some Rocket resistence. At one time it was the reluctance or hesitance of the other teams, now it appears to be CD and the Rockets who are vacillating.

I hope Sam knows that he is still a valuable player in this league and most Rocket fans want him back for another two year run with us.

I can't help believing that he would be a great addition to this team, regardless of the roster makeup. The young guys could learn from him, he has always had great shooting poise during pressure situations (something that has been sadly lacking since Bob Horry left). His added gun on the run can only enhance our team. If they truly want to upgrade and overhaul next year, they still have the option to trade him or keep him. I see that as a win-win situation all around.

Despite all this. He sits at home witing for RT and CD to decide his future. Exactly where he has been for soome time.

By the way Puff has a much better handle on the on-going Sam Mack situation than anyone.

    Cheers. [IMG]
