this thing is on ESPN or ESPN2 every single day. I was moderately interested in it when it first came out at the Tribeca film festival but i find myself unable to sit through more than a few minuts of it, especially the preening segments when play stops.

enough kobexposure. Put on womens bowling or something.

I second that but I haven't even watched a second of it. It annoys me just seeing it on the guide so often.

Thats like asking ESPN to do an episode of Sportscenter that doesn't contain a Lebron James piece or a who texted Brett Favre news breaker

it's bad because it's cover up who Kobe is and trying to get people to like someone who is unlikable. It's a bull***** piece and needs to be pulled. Sports journalism has hit a new low.

I was surprised when the game footage was from last season. I mean it took that long to release this? I was under the impression that the game was this season.

I'm not sure when Kobe participated in the additional taping, but it'd have been a conflict of interest to the team in a way having Kobe doing voice overs during the season when they have to travel city to city every day, on a project all about him. Even Kobe isnt that self-centered? I assume they put it together in the offseason. Plus it makes sense to release it during the basketball season when interest is higher.

But they could have that out in a couple weekends. Kobe just isnt as engaging as he thinks he is

I've watched Doin' Work about 15 times now -- each time I see it I glean a new pearl of wisdom that will help me live a better life.

Yes. I watch it with my kids as often as I can. We always pick out a good life lesson from the film and discuss it for hours afterwards. My kids want to be Kobe and I couldn't be happier, what with him being such a great role model and leading a balanced life and all. Simply wonderful stuff.

Spike Lee is incredibly overrated as a director. He's like the Chris Webber of directors...shows occasional flashes of talent, but ultimately most of his stuff is below par.

    Good Spike Lee projects:
    - The " It's gotta be the shoes " Nike commercials
    - The Kings of Comedy documentary
    - Summer of Sam
    - He's Got Game
    - Inside Man

i doubt that you can call him "incredibly overrated" as a director when you left off his two best works (imo) on that list and another good documentary he did

    when the levees broke

    Macolm X
    Do the Right Thing

not to mention some of his other movies that were pretty good, I would say its his newer stuff that hasnt really impressed me.

while I don't believe he has been nominated for an oscar (though I could be wrong) his resume as a director is one to be envied by most directors.

I liked it. It's nowhere near as bad as what some people are claiming (case in point: that little passive aggressive review that LeBron Dwyer did over at Ball Don't Lie). Kobe does sound pretty fake, and he probably left out a lot of the R rated language that usually comes with the games, but overall I thought it was a nice insider documentary of the best player in the game.

How do you leave out "Do the Right Thing" man - that was such a groundbreaking movie at the time.

I read a piece about it in the Times, he did the voiceover one night after the Lakers played in MSG this season, if I recall correctly it took about few hours and that was it.

I guess I am just not a fan of doing work. :(

I would rather see Kelvin Cato: Maxin' and Relaxin'
