Bill Simons and Zach Lowe discuss the historical context of what Harden is doing at the 36:55 mark:

Some GREAT discussion of how Harden 2018 compares to the all-time greats.:

"He's certainly a better offensive player than Kobe ever was"

"For me its like him versus of Jordan for shooting guards"

"I feel like they (Harden and Jordan) are neck and neck"

"Its hard for me to believe someone wins the MVP and then makes a leap"

"The underrated thing about him is his durability"

"He seems like almost Lebron level indestructible"

"He's like straight up explosive when going from the ground to rim"

    "He's a monster, he's and absolute monster"

"Is it conceivable he goes for 40 a game the rest of the way? It feels conceivable"

This podcast was an unapologetic love fest for Harden. Simmons and Lowe make a clear argument that Harden is on a level that only Jordan and Chamberlain have ever achieved.

Harden is overcoming the negative narratives that used to define him in the media. It's such as awesome thing to watch.

if any player but harden was doing this they would dedicate the entire pod, no, a series of special podcasts about what he is doing solely to him...
its an embarrassment that i had to scroll to 36:55 mark to hear about the all time greatness of the bearded one

The smart guys have always been quite fond of harden. If they are smart enough to look past simple fg%, they usually appreciate harden

Here’s the thing about Kobe. His shot selection was awful. But he maintained above average efficiency. With less of a “**** you” mentality and more common sense, he could have been very efficient.

But facts are facts. Harden is better in almost every way.

3 Guard dynasty, the best ever.

    Jordan
    Kobe
    Harden

    Harden needs rings though.

Lakers fans think this is troll. You would be banned at the Lakers forum immediately.
I's okay to say Harden is a better player than Kobe. You've just can't say "in almost every way".
I was at the Lakers forum for a while.

Harden is the best..he doesn't need rings.. rings are teams accomplishments...the connoisseurs can make the right judgement in vacuum

kobe was simply inefficient and couldn't pass and Jordan couldn't shoot 3s and nor create/pass as well as harden can

Rings mean something if you ask the experts.

    I agree with this ranking
    Jordan
    Harden
    Kobe

Jordan can't shoot 3 because many things were different at that time.

    This.

    This. This. THIS!

How many times have any of us seen that happen? Not only in the NBA, but in any professional sport?

What Harden's doing this year is astounding.

Why did you leave? You should go back ASAP. That Lakersground forum is filled with such dense minds that I'll bet they really miss your brilliant posts.

Offensively yeah. Defense, Kobe has an advantage even though he’s not as ironclad as people remember
