MoT for Cal Booth + Antonio Daniels Seattle is trying to shake things up. Everyone is available including Ray and Rashard. They liked MoT in the past a lot. They don't have a Four. They've been trying to move Cal Booth the day after they signed him (don't ask, it's a Seattle thing, you won't understand it. It all started with the immortal McIlvaine...) This would be like a dream deal for them. The Rockets need to move MoT, and they get the best non-AllStar-PG in the league. Antonio Daniels is the next Chauncey Billups, believe me. High expectations, high draft pick, didn't quite pan out, traveled a lot, ready for a late bloom. Meanwhile Cal Booth is not a bad player. He couldn't fit in the Sonic scheme, but he can play. Excellent backup 4/5. His contract looked bad a couple of years ago, however, in comparison to the Memo Okur/Mark Blount/Adonal Foyle deals it's not so bad.
You are absolutely right! How come no else has come up with this? I am dumbfounded and, now, enlightened as well.
Taylor isn't cheap. Sonics fans want a PF who can pull down the boards. Taylor isn't that PF. I think they'd rather trade Radmanovic for a good PF that better fits their needs. I'd love to see something like this happen, however. Kill two birds with one stone.
Hey, I'd like to see Antonio Daniels here too, but you're sounding like you've been drinking out of the same water fountain as Les Alexander.
if seattle wants some1 to pull down boards its called a reggie evans even though he shoots like worse than cato =\
Next thing you're gonna propose that we trade MoT & Boki for Vince Carter. Come on guy, please think before you propose dumb trades.
I lived in San Antonio while Daniels played there and trust me he is not the next Billups! He is so tentative on the court it will drive you crazy. When I used to watch him he never seemed in the flow of the game. To me he looks scared out there.
Good trade for both sides if the salaries match. MoT is underrated with his big contract. He can put up 16/7 given 35 minutes.
Another alternative is if Seattle wants to rid salary next year and long term is Booth for Spoon, TE for AD. Saves them like 2.5 mil next year, just under 3 mil per year (or more to retain AD) in 05, and over 6 mil in 06. Purely financial from Seattles view, could add some 2nd rounders so Seattle could better save face. I think Spoon and Gaines or Boki would work too (AD+Booth) Seattle only shaves like 800K though. By the way I like AD for the Rockets, but think any comparisons to Billips is purely superficial. Billips is a tough as nails, traditional, PG. AD is a tweener who has learned to play to his strengths and away from his weaknesses.
Mmm Chicken bakes from Costco are good. Grilled chicken, 3 diffrent kinds of cheese, bacon, green onions and creamy ceasar sauce Yummmmmmmm O sorry got carried away there.... ya Daniels would be a nice pickup.
This isn't a dumb trade. It's totally feasible. It just depends on what direction that Seattle wants to go. It's completely plausible that they'd want to move out an unspectacular center for a pf, that has the same amout of years left, but might actually contribute. It's not like he was asking for MoT and the TE for Rashard, and Ray Allen.
Ok, its not a dumb trade but its a very unlikely trade. While Seattle is in desperate need of a PF, they are looking for a PF that will rebound and play D, both something that MoT doesn't do well or at all. While Seattle would love to get rid of Booth's contract, they wouldn't also give away Daniels (cheap contract) for MoT's 27Million/3yrs contract to do so. Plus, that would leave them with no PG at all, I believe Fisher signing w/ GS really killed our chances for AD.
