I have not had time to go through everything yet, as I just got back. However, I have seen some of the topics discussed, and I'll let a few things known right now. We will have no redraft, and we will not reset rosters. Not anytime soon anyway. I do apologize to any new GMs who don't have great teams, but you can still compete as well. Look at what gettinbranded has done with the Bulls this first year, and what SCF has done with the Clips. They came with similar rosters to what you will have. Neither will make the playoffs this year, but they have very bright futures in the league. It would be a disservice to those who have been in the league since the start to restart. Everyone has worked very hard on their teams to get them to the point they are now, and I am not in any hurry to make everyone's work useless. The league was going very well-- it was at it's most popular point ever imho-- and right now I don't think things need to change. The common draft and rookie draft will balance out the power good enough. If you have a lesser team, all it means is you have to work a little harder. You can compete, believe me. Don't give up. On the subject of VOR, I have decided that I will let him enter Ceballos into the draft. I originally was opposed to the idea of him doing so because I severely underestimated the amount of games Ceballos played in. When this season will be over, Ceballos will have played in close to 60 games for the Mavs, or over 2/3 of their games. Is Ceballos as good a player as Marshall? In my opinion, no, even though he did have solid stats. However, the point of the draft is for the better teams to give the losing teams a chance by giving 2 of their main contributors away to the lesser teams. We can debate that Marshall is a better player forever, but we can't deny that VOR has definitely the best team in league history. And they rarely lost with Ceballos starting almost 60 games. I think Marshall is a better player than Ceballos. But Ceballos was a starter for almost 3/4 of VOR's games, and they hardly ever lost, so it is obvious that he is a very capable player. Despite who is the better player, I don't see how we can deny VOR the right to submit a player to the draft who started nearly 3/4 of his games and was one of the starters who made him almost unbeatable. Anyway, just thought I'd make my opinion on a few things clear. I know I haven't responded to everything, but I will try and get to that later. The final simming will occur tomorrow-- I still have a lot of unpacking, etc. to do tonight. ------------------ "Basketball players win basketball games. And then the mutiny in simville was brought down, and we were all back on track again. Thanks Cat. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
And life returns to normal. I am ready for the playoffs to start. ------------------ "I always thought it was something that went around my house" - World B. Free on Defence
btw check my idea in some of these multiple threads (think it is in the latest standings thread) - you think it is possible for you to break the final sim session into smaller pieces for the same day - to really follow the fight for seeds and the playoffs at all. Of course no stats is done between sessions. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
Thank you, Cat. Tranquility can now be resumed. I guess the only real question at this point is, will you still quit, kbm? ------------------ CC.NET Sim League Web Page My Team (Sonics) Feeling claustrophobic, like the walls are closing in. Heath, I can't do it twice a day, because I am working and away from home from 8 until 5. I might could do one session at 6 and another at 9 or 10, but that seems too close together. However, I would encourage doing them two separate days or sessions, as you suggested, because teams are fighting for playoff positioning. All we're going to complete by the rookie draft next week is the first round of the playoffs, and that will take 3 days (first two games, second two, and any game 5's). So, if we did one session tonight and another tomorrow, we could start the playoffs on Thursday, and get in two simming sessions between then and Wednesday to finish the first round. No, do the rest today - if you can't split it up in smaller sessions, no problem - it was just an idea that popped into my head. And as I'm sitting here on my back up internet connection today I probably wont be on that much anywa so let my new experimental starters in Dream, Camby, Swift, Marion and Payton secure the conference. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
