    j-bone. thx. That's a pretty good one.

    So, Achebe....I mean oohahhchebe.

Where in there does Murphy say the Rockets will bypass a PF/C to grab a much-needed SF, like the cc.net draft notes say.

Reading that almost has me convinced that the #13 pick can rarely be counted on achieving a 10-yr NBA starter, so why not take Haywood's natural skills, just an attitude problem.

    • If a 3rd PG isn't on the roster, I lose my moniker, or
    • If a new SF unseats Langhi, I lose.
    • But, if a 3rd PG makes it, and Langhi is not unseated, you lose.

The more I read, the closer I am to thinking the Rocks are going to draft Michael Bradley. I really hope we don't get that dude.

Scouts compare him to Antonie Walker which is pretty good.

I doubt he'll be the next Antoine Walker.

I wonder what scouts said Cato would be...

    From Murph's article

"In case you haven't noticed, the Rockets are in the market for "bigs" -- that's centers to you and me -- and small forwards."

They will not bypass a good center if there, but I'm banking on the best available, by far, at the #13 being a SF. I'll lose my moniker with jubilation if a worthy center drops into the #13.

I would hate it if the Rockets drafted Haywood. There is a reason he's referred to as "Brenda" by the rest of the ACC.

Note that you still win if oeilpere's rumblings that NJ is ripe for a trade bare some Horny fruit.

I'm thinking that we will only use a draft pick for a big man, and will trade down or away the picks rather than pick "best available athlete". We then will use the rest of the summer chasing a SF solution.

I'm on shaky ground, even in my own mind. More people should bet me. Look at it this way, if I win, it probably means we landed some stellar beef that no one expected....so you will still be happy.

Someone tell me about that Paul Gasol guy? I think the comparisions to Garnett are crazy, only guy that has garnett skills is k.brown.

Is Gasol like a Nowitzki clone? Cause if he is then take him fast. Imagine this...

    Cato - 6'11
    Webber - 6'9
    Gasol - 7'1
    Mobley - 6'4
    Francis - 6'3

But are we gonna get the NJ pick? Or KVH? KVH would possibly solve the "tall small forward" role.

It would be easier for NJ to trade KVH if they have the opportunity to select another premier SF. The questions should be: (1) are Joe Johnson or Rodney White a better SF than KVH and/or (2) is NJ a better team with Cato and Joe Johnson or Rodney White or a team with KVH and Loren Woods or Jason Richardson? Personally, the addition of just Cato (as opposed to Woods) to a NJ team that needs a C and SG wouldn't help the Nets. Houston would have to include a draft pick or another guard.

A likely scenario would not involve draft picks, but would probably have to occur after Houston renounced the rights to Olajuwon: Houston trades Cato and Anderson to NJ for KVH.
