we are always talking about the best draft class, but what was the best retirement class?? ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Have you got any retirement lists we can refer to? ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
The only thing I thought of doing was going to the Basketball Hall of Fame site and looked at the HoF classes. Most of these guys just retire a year after each other, but I did see a class that had 3 hall of famers that retired the same year. There might be more but I'm not motivated. The 1974 Retiree/Hall of Famers(79 class) : Oscar Robertson Jerry West and Jerry Lucas Also Willis Read retired in 1974 Billy Cunningham also retired from the ABA in 1974. Too lazy to do anymore research, hehe. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited March 13, 2001).] [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited March 13, 2001).]
Band Geek Mobster, Walt Bellamy also played his final year in '74. If any of you guys want to grab additional players, you can try going to the following link and seeing when they were inducted into the Hall of Fame. If you click on their link, it will show you what their final pro years were. http://www.hoophall.com/halloffamers/year.htm ------------------ "I was arrested for sexual assault involving an elderly man and I was out in 35 minutes." -- Achebe - programmer by day, geriatric ass grabber by night. As(s?) a side note, he did state he was cleared of charges.
I've got nothing! I would be amazed if anybody does, but Finn never ceases to surprise me..... ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Yeah I had to run before I could finish my search for the 74 retirees. BTW, nice link. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited March 15, 2001).]
