Michael Jordan is the EASY answer...

    I'll say Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson was downright cut? If going to jail counts as getting cut than it's him, but otherwise it's Jordan.

Iverson was NOT cut from his high school team. He was a legend even before he went to high school. His best sport was actually football. He was a fantastic quarterback. Micheal Vick went to the same high school (after Iverson was gone, of course) and Vick has stated he always wanted to be like Iverson.

    Iverson was never cut...

I guess that is an easy Trivia question. I didn't know until reading a bio of him today.

    So, why was Jordan cut?

And was any other MVP ever cut? Duncan, Robinson and Hakeem did not play each year, but they were never cut.

did Duncan play high school ball?

Maybe Shaq. . but he was tall . . if un athletic then

So who else been mvp. .. Hakeem did not play high school ball
So it can only be Jordan or Iverson

I thought you were trying to fake us out there for a sec, HP...I didn't know if Iverson was cut or not.

Ok, who was the last NBA MVP not born in the United States? ;)

According to the article, it sounds like getting cut just provided Jordan with more motivation.

Uh no, Jordan was never cut from his high school basketball team.

That's just another piece of internet fiction trying to make people feel better.

thats my one question with this story. I heard he was cut from the varsity team as a sophmore. Now that would tell me he was on the J.V. team. I dont know, mabey I am wrong. It could be a story to make kids feel good.

I believe it's somewhere in his book, The Jordan Rules, from the early 90s. I don't think it's fiction.

btw: here's a picture of Jordan in high school....you've GOT to be kidding me??? That shadow from the flash makes him look like a mythological character. Part of me thinks this is myth building by Jordan similar to some of the stuff that is written in scores and scores of Beatles history books.

"Between the 10th and 11th grade, Jordan grew from 5'11" to 6'3", and because he had improved greatly as a player, he made the varsity team the following year. Jordan played so well in his junior season that he was invited to attend the Five-Star Camp in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during the summer before his senior year."
