Forget East vs. West. In the last 17 seasons in the NBA, 41% of them have been won by the state of Texas alone. 2 by the Rockets 4 by the Spurs 1 by the Mavs Think it's tough in these parts? Rough waters for the Rockets lately, but definitely something to hold your head up high about.
I don't like how we are in the middle of that stat. I really hope Houston surprises us soon and wins it all... Ugh...
a friend pointed out In the last 30 years The Western Conference Champion [the West's representative in the NBA finals] has either been . . . . THE LAKERS or a TEXAS TEAM I need to check it Rocket River
That's certainly not true. Utah made two Finals. Seattle made one Finals. And that's just going back to 1996. The Bulls beat two non-Texas/Lakers teams in their first three-peat (Portland and Phoenix). The Pistons beat the Blazers in 1990.
You right. . i know it did not sound right. . . but did not feel like thinking about it. Rocket River
Did he mean the team from the Western Conference to win it all? EDIT: Yeah. That's probably what he meant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NBA_champions Look. The last Western Conference team to win it all that wasn't Lakers or Texas was the Seattle Sonics in 1980. Just saying.
Sorry . . i reread it . It said NBA CHAMPION from the west So the only NBA CHAMPIONS from the west . . have been the LAKERS or a Texas Team . . Rocket River sorry . . .mental fatigue
Are we Rockets fans really scooping as low as pulling the Texas card in order to cheer for the Mavs? Man, sad. I'm glad the LeDouche, DWhistle and Baby Bosh lost, but do I really have to cheer for the Mavs just because they reside in Texas?
i saw a stat that said the lakers, spurs, or mavs have been in the WCF every year for the past x amount of years. something like 10 maybe?
