    Heard this on the radio:

Last year, every single day 11,000 NEW prescriptions for anti-depressants were written for children. This does no include refills.

    Ugh.

Well you can't really expect the children to write the prescriptions themselves. They're just little kids......

A lot of these kids probably don't need them. Its like all these doctors prescribing Ridden, when all the really need is a couple slap upside the head. Many of these kids just need someone to listen to their problems.

Acutally its only 3-4% of the brain that an average person uses.

Of course DOD utilizes only about 0.5% if his posts quality is any sort of indication.

That is the most common misconception about the brain. A more appropriate statment would be that one uses 3-4% of the brain at at any given time. Over the course of the day, most of the entire brain gets used.

Isnt it because different parts of the brain are used for different things. So yeah at one point people usually use around 3-4%, but differnt parts are used throughtout the day probably.

Evolution wouldn't allow us to use just 3-4%. I'd say that just about all of the brain gets used at some point. It's a statisic that contradicts what we believe to be true. If it is true, then perhaps everything else we believe isn't quite correct.

Why can't these kids just get their drugs and sex education on the street, like I did when I was their age?

Probably so they don't turn into a drug-addled sex freak like me when they grow up! [IMG]

Just because snopes says so doesn't make it true ... and vice versa.
