You wanted a no doubt about it straight answer, here it is. Besides the 3 main games; Hou vs. SF, Buf. vs. NJ, NO vs. TB; Baltimore vs. Cleveland will be the most important of the Year!!

If it hold true to form, next week should go like this:
Texans over 49'ers (? it's up to you whom you pull for; is a loss is a win ;) )
Bucks over Saints (PULL for THE SAINTS ALL THE WAY :D )
Buffalo over Jets (PULL FOR THE JETS ALL THE WAY :D )
Browns over Ravens (PULL FOR THE RAVENS ALL THE WAY  )

We need upsets in the following games
Giants over Raiders (Pulling for Raiders Helps against Jets huts against Saints)
Steelers over Lions (Pull for the Lions, helps us and hurts Saints)
Bengals over Chiefs (Pull for the Chiefs, hurts the Jets)
Seahawks over Packers (Pull for the Packers, Helps our SOS and hurts NO)
Colts over Cardinals (Pull for the Cardinals, Helps our SOS)
Jags over Titans (Pull for the Jaguars, hurts Jets SOS)

Cowboys over Rams (Pull for the RAMS, that hurts NO SOS :p )

Broncos over Chargers (this game doesn't matter at all)
Panters over Hawks (this game doens't matter at all)
Bears over Vikings (this game doens't matter at all)
Patriots over Dolphins (this game doesn't matter at all)

If those predictions hold true, this is how the SOS finishes with the Draft being: (without my wishful thinking)

    1. NO
    2. NJ
    3. Hou

But in my opinion the one wild card game is the Browns vs. Ravens. If the Ravens win that forces a Coin Toss between the Texans and the Jets.

There is a slim to none chance of overtaking NO, could happen but....!!!

To Force a coin toss between NO and Hou for Bush, the following upsets have to happen Buffalo, Pittsburg, Seahawks, and Colts lose. Yup, I don't think that's going to happen  But there is a CHANCE :D

Forgot to mention that the SOS going into the game next weekend are

    NO - .5167 opponent record is 124-116
Hou- .5333 opponent record is 128-112
    NJ - .5333 opponent record is 128-112

If all the predictions hold true, Saints opponents will go 8-8. The New Jersey Opponents will go 8-8. And the Texans opponents will go 9-7.

But the one game that give the Jets opponents a 9-7 record it the Browns vs. the Ravens. You see Jets played the Raven. The Texans played both teams. It doesn't affect the Texans for which team wins, but the Jets SOS goes up by one. Essentially tying the SOS of the jets and Texans.

My head just exploded. Thanks for the info Zacatecas. Hopefully, the Texans just lose and we don't have to worry about SOS.

If the Texans are down 21-0 at the end of the 1st quarter, we'll know the fix is in. ;)

The price for winning this week is so great for the Texans ... if they win, they have to be the stupidest franchise in sports. Consider that in 2004, the price of the #1 pick (Eli Manning) was the #4 pick, a 3rd round pick and a 1st and 5th round pick the following season. In 2001, the price of the #1 pick (Vick) was the #5 pick, a 3rd round pick, a second rounder the following season and WR Tim Dwight.

If the Texans win and drop to 4 or whatever, the cost is 2-3 solid draft picks they could use to rebuild this team. HUGE. This is the very epitome of a must-lose.

Am I the only one here who thinks that the Texans don't have to "tank" this game?

I believe the 49ers could beat the Texans at full strength.

Does anyone think it would be too obvious if Carr gets his contract extension this week, and then goes on to throw 5 interceptions in the 49ers game? If I were Mr. McNair I would have a little sit down with Carr and discuss his future with the Texans.

Me too, 49ers nearly beat Jax and beat STL last week.

Great post Zacetacas, it was easy to understand.

Pretty much the same philosopy applies. There are only certain matchup you should concern yourself with. They are depicted above.

A Texans and San Francisco tie would seal the Texans # 1 pick

Unbelievable how important it is we lose this game...we're talking about 3 slots in the order with one game. We need to pull one of those "seeing who should be on this team next year" type of games and put in all backups...Ragone at QB, start Mathis at WR, Morency, etc.

If we don't end up with #1 or #2, we're basically screwed as far as trading the pick goes. I can't even imagine how many picks/players we'd get for #1...I still don't know whether we should grab Bush or not. Leinart will probably net us a nice load of picks too...you definiately trade on him.

Well the Texans haven't won a road game all season. Hopefully we rest our good players. With that in mind, I hope Seth McKinney plays every down on offense. Maybe a little iron man ball for P-Buch. Whatever it takes to secure the #1.

I think Seth is injured and out for the year. Regardless, I'm pretty sure he'll be on the Dolphins sideline next week.

Carr should think about how good Bush can help HIM. He could make the offense so much better and, in turn, make Carr a better player.
There is nothing but upside for Carr for the Texans to get Bush.
Plus, I think getting a great coach will be easier because they would be able to coach Carr (who is still young and talented), Johnson (top 10 receiver in league), and Bush (most electrifying player to come out of college in years),

    Carr should WANT to lose!!!!!
If he players horrible and throws pick after pick, I won't hold it against him.
I just don't want anyone getting hurt. Play smart to lose.
