What organization has been the most succesful as of late in turning a crap product into a worldwide phenomenon?

    The WWF...

I think the Rockets need to hire some guy from the WWF to help with festivities that go on before, during, and after a game.

I think the stuff the Rockets do now is very weak and tired. The sound effects they play sound so out of place and are beyond stupid. The bear is okay...I guess. I think it sucks but some people like it, but I don't think anyone likes Jay Rocket. Why not have some big hulking SOB take the role of Jay Rocket? Personally, a little short guy with a whining voice doesn't make me want to get up and cheer. You know what would make me cheer?

These 2 bastards, we need 2 steroid injecting psychopaths to play the part of Jay Rocket. Seriously...

Also the music needs to be more like the WWF and it needs to be a lot louder, we need kickass intro music to go with the players. This intro music they play now is weak. We need heavy hitting music.

The WWF has turned into a huge thing accross the globe, people of all shapes and colors seem to love it, so why not try to tap into this method of presentation?

We don't need the power dancers to wear little outfits either, although that would be nice. The Rockets could just play with the loud music and cool lasers and stuff...

I mean we just had Wrestlemania in Houston recently, so obviously the people that we could attract to games would be there, and they would be loud too.

    Any thoughts on this?

PS - I apologize for the picture, but Legion of Doom was my all-time favorite wrestling tagteam back when I was a kid.

PSS - This might be the wrong forum, not sure, but I figured if uniform threads are fine in here, then a Rockets marketing suggestion would also be fine...

Maybe we could hire a few WWF bookers to help choreograph games.

uhh.. anyone see anything wrong with this? That actually made me laugh.. this is BASKETBALL. The music is more than likely played to the player's taste in warm-ups, rather than the fans. Most basketball players like rap, common fact. Why in the hell would you play music like they do in wwf? That is the most stupid idea I've ever heard.

But then maybe if we did play to the fans more and got them pumped up during the intros, the players could feed off that energy and actually get off to a decent start instead of playing catch-up from the get go.

Was that sentence too long?

Uh...do you listen to the music that's played during games?

I doubt the players like most of that music, and I highly doubt they like that lame ass song that they get introduced to.

Also I'd like to point out that rap music does have a heavy beat and I'm sure the players like rap songs that are loud too.

    Try again...

Yeah rH, I bet Stevie and Cuttino were begging for Les to keep the "Deep in the heart of texas" clapalong song as a part of their in-game entertainment...

Steve Francis told them to put Silk the Shockers hit song " He did that" whenever he scores.

    He did that.
    He did that

It gets pretty damn annoying after he has 30 points and all you hear is he did that.

How about marketing the Rockets most dominant center in the past couple of seasons, Walt Williams. :)

More exciting...good - like the WWF? Hell no - you want Steve and Mobely to demand a trade in the middle of the season or something?

The fans will get into when they actually care whether the Rockets win or lose. Right now they resemble Cato.

so are you saying that Rockets' intro music is picked by Rockets players?
Do you even know wut kind of music they play for the intro?

-- Why in the hell would you play music like they do in wwf?

For the better marketing purpose.. i bet hard base hitting music can pump up fans and players way better than "who let the dog out" crap..

-- That is the most stupid idea I've ever heard.

Is it really the most stupid idea youve ever heard?.. or u just saying that to make him look bad? .. most of the time stupid idea leads to great success in marketing world.
