Man, the more I look at this extremely flawed team, the more I am convinced the Rockets will be selecting with the Atlantas, Charolottes and Torontos of the NBA in the Lottery. Any team starting Ryan Bowen, playing Moochie Norris is bound for utter oblivion!!!!!!!

i think most of us have come to grips with the fact that yao will miss a lot of games, and in that time tmac will wear himself out.

with everyone else on the team injured too, it's pretty obvious that the best we could hope for is to be in the race for the 8th seed.

i think that this season is has a big silver lining.

it's called the lotto. we don't have any assests to trade for players we need. we don't have the cap space to sign players we need since les won't go over the LT.

there still is one way to bring in tradable or useable players. the draft!

i for one, am looking foward to daniel gibson.

An injury laden season landed us Yao Ming.

An injury laden season landed San Antonio Tim Duncan.

Yes, we know. We are in big trouble this season but did we need another thread for it?

    Brokeback Rockets

This season is looking like it just wasn't meant to be. Too many injuries and now Yao's out for over a month. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tmac getting benched later in the season when we are out of it because of "back problems."

    F-k the lottery.

I've sat through multiple lottery seasons in the post-Hakeem doldrums and aside from Yao and Francis, we've also ended up with Collier and Griffin. Oh, and in the interim we've been worse than the spurs and mavericks, our cross-state b****boys throughout the 90's, and the spurs have a legitimate dynasty case to make.

F-k the lottery. Can't we win now, like we did last year? :(

none of which were drafted by JVG.

rudy was allways taking gambles on projects. JVG doesn't want any projects. he will draft the player who will perform best next season.

a high pick means a pretty good player. even if we don't want to keep the pick, i'm sure we can use it to unload jho and rafer's contracts and bring in a good player.

either way, having a high pick isn't a bad thing at all. it's earning one that makes me want to shoot someone.

To do anything of significance, I feel like we have to get the 7th seed. 8th seed would be assured first round elimination.

It will be tough, but I think we will be better than most people are predicting without Yao.

we can survive Yao being out as long as we can get some of the other guys back, Deke, JB , Sura and Rafer being the earliest possible returns

Deke is out for one more game(his words, hope he is right)
JB said last game that he is doing better, had good workouts
Rafer cant possibly be out much longer (his 3-5 weeks are almost up)
and Sura will hopefully make it a early new years return, we sure could use him.

screw the lottery talk, the draft aint gonna be that good anyway.

The Rockets have an abysmal record in the draft. Compared to the Spurs, the Rocket's record of draft picks is, well, not as good. Of course, Head and Ming are recent exceptions, but a little research will prove my point.

Yup..im sure we can go back to last year that time and check the threads and there was one just like this...then it took a bit for the new team to gel and we were fine and making noise in the playoffs.

We have a new team again and it's gonna be the same as last year in my opinion....

I don't think there is a need to panic honestly. I belive we have won something like 6 out of the last 8 games...so im in no hurry to panic just yet.
