My son has ask for a Nintendo DS from Santa Claus, along with two games: "The Secret Saturdays: Beasts of The 5th Sun" and "LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues".

Relatives are now asking about which DS games they could give.

I googled this and came up with usual suspects:

    Mario Kart
    New Super Mario Bros.
    Yoshi's Island
    Pokemon Pearl
    Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force
    Sonic Rush
    LEGO Batman
    etc.

I also stumbled on MARIO Super Pack DS - 110 games in 1 Cartridge! Nintendo DS which claims to be a "homebrew" cartidge.

Not sure which of this games are age appropriate or the *hot* games his friends will be playing.

Go to Gamerankings.com and look at the highest rated games....you can even read links to all of the ratings etc.

It is like Rotten tomatoes of video games.

take him to the store, ask him what he want santa to buy for him...

then go back another day, buy it, and it'll be perfect :)

and deep down inside, he'll know daddy is the man !

My 4 year old can actually play some of these. He loves Mario Kart
new Super Mario and surprisingly Cooking Mama (It isn't as girly as it sounds). My older son likes Pokemon, but it does require some reading skills. he had a hard time with it until he got old enough to read fairly well. They both also like Mario and Sonic at the Olympics and the Sonic games too.

    Yep. Awesome game for anybody.

I can only imagine how great this game is for developing a child's sense of creativity and problem solving.
