I'm going in an interview for fry's tomorrow. This will be my first interview. I seriously have no idea what to say or do. Anyone have any tips.
Whatever else you do, find a desk in the interview area and put your feet on that desk while sitting in a chair. See the 'Lone Biker of the Apocalypse' in Raising Arizona for exact mannerisms.
Look your interviewer in the eyes when you speak to him. Give a good handshake when you meet him or her. Smile and look confident. Dont worry man...Rockets won.
I would definitely try to work into the conversation the fact that you have been elevated to "member" status on clutchfans
Family Guy advise. When the interviewer asks what you see yourself doing in 5 years...don't say doin your wife.
Employers these days are looking for people who make friends easily and are popular. Convince your employer that you are popular by telling him that your stinger has made honey in many hives. But let me caution you -- don't oversell this by attempting the shirt-pulled-through-the-zipper oops my schlong is sticking out maneuver. This rouse rarely works.
If you need help with an interview at Frys then I'm not so sure you're ready to get out in the real world just yet. I only say this because I've dealt with more idiot blue collar workers at Frys in this lifetime than I could ever imagine. Just make sure to ask questions. If you don't ask questions, you definitely will not get the job.
The best advice I can give you is to dress well, smile a lot, be confident and BE EARLY. Also, if you're comfortable enough, ask them questions about the position and about the work environment. It will make it sound like you've more interested in the position.
"I like taking things from my workplace. Do you guys mind this?" Interviewer: "Why do you think we should hire you?" "I dunno. It's freakin' Fry's anyways. You got numbnuts galore working for you. I know, I shop here alot and your employees don't know squat. It's not like you're aiming for Employee of the Year when you hire. That's why I think I can be a good employee for you, cause I know I can be mediocre without even trying."
I would ask about how much discount you get as an employee and how many days off you will get each month. Also ask them if they prosecute harshly for employees caught stealing merchandise. I remember someone told me that by asking questions it shows you are really interested in the job.
