a friend of mine wants me to make her a mix tape after listening to dmb's 'everyday'. this isn't a piracy thing, more of a go-get-the-whole-collection thing. problem is, i kinda feel bad for leaving some of them out, and i'm not too sure which i should tape. some of the songs need getting used to until you realize how good it is. any ideas? i guess the crowd pleasers like 'dont drink the water' and 'crash into me' must get in. none from their lillywhite session please. thank you.
My favorite DMB songs: Two Step #41 Crush Warehouse Crash Typical Situation Tripping Billies Lover Lay Down Ants Marching What Would You Say Dreaming Tree But I like pretty much ALL of Dave's stuff!!!
If I had to make a 12 song DMB cd... (in no particular order) Pig #41 Two Step Dancing Nancies Say Goodbye The Stone The Last Stop Crush The Best of What's Around Ants Marching One Sweet World Everyday If you wanted a live song or two, my favorite DMB song live is the So Much to Say segue into Too Much. As for Lillywhite...I'd have to pick Grey Street, Grace is Gone, Big Eyed Fish, Bartender and Captain. Vengeance or MadMax, do you have tickets for either Houston show? The reason I'm asking is that I may buy some for Sunday's show from someone who claims to have very good seats. Problem is that RM95's Girl is graduating law school on Saturday and has sworn that she will be too hungover to move on Sunday, so I may need someone to go with or just to sell the tickets to. Interested?
#41 Crash Space Between Satellite Best of What's Around Ants Marching Lie in Our Graves Two Step Everyday
I am interested in the tickets! Or going with you, or whatever. I haven't gotten tickets for 5/5 yet -- I'm not too worried about it. I've got 5/4 though hurray for ebay!
MY favorite 12 would be Crash Christmas song the stone jimmie thing warehouse too much lie in our graves so much to say recently crazy lover lay down ants marching but you can rarely go wrong with dave,
Dammit, I wish you'd have responded earlier. The girl e-mailed me back...she's in New Braunfels and leaving for Virignia sometime today. I told her I probably couldn't go (the tickets weren't that good anyway).
Vengeance- I have 2 tickets for 5/5 at the Woodlands that I can't use if you want them. They are reserved, center section, row HH. I just want to get face value back for them, not trying to make any money, just not loose. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks.
BTW, anyone have any idea what songs are on the new album? There are 9 from Lillywhite, plus 2 new ones...I just want to know which 9. I'm guessing that Kit Kat Jam, Monkey Man, and Captain are the ones left off.
My feeling is that Kit Kat will still be on it, but Monkey Man, Captain and Big Eyed Fish will be off. I know that one new song is "Where are you going?" and the other is "You never know". Or that's what it would seem. RiceRocket -> How much are they? I'm very interested. Let me check and make certain that I want them and I'll let you know. I was planning on getting the second day on the lawn, but Center HH is damned good!! Well, I guess I've deliberated long enough: This is NOT live stuff, but just studio recordings: Tripping Billies Lie in Our Graves Dancing Nancies Space Between Recently Jimi Thing Two Step Warehouse #41 Minarets Best of What's Around Pantala Naga Pampa -> Rapunzel (2 tracks, but one song as I see it) That's not my favorite, but I think it's a good cross-section. Pig, One Sweet World, Say Goodbye and Satellite would all be good too. You could also put some radio songs on there, radio songs being: What would you say, Crash, Too Much, SMTS. Live would be different though. Live, you can't leave out Watchtower for instance.
I think Big Eyed Fish will be on there cause it seems they've been playing it quite a bit on the tour so far.
Vengeance- The face valus is $45 each, but I'd like $100 for the pair to get back some of the shipping and handling charges. They are Warehouse (fan club) tickets. I got rejected for the first night here in Houston and I got some really nice seats in San Antonio and Dallas so I'm just using those becuase I can't make it Sunday night because of my finals. Let me know if you're interested. On the songs for "Busted Stuff", I actually thought Captain was going to be on there, but I'm not sure. Unfortunately, I've heard that there will be no JTR. I guess we'll see, there should be a tracklisting out soon. I'll go ahead and weigh in on a mix of songs that would be good for a newbie: Tripping Billies What Would You Say Ants Marching #41 Everyday Crash Crush PNP--> Rapunzel Say Goodbye Stay When the World Ends Two Step
BTW, anyone think i could swing the San Antonio or Dallas shows? I have to work from 8 to 3 or 4 during the weekdays. I need to work more, but I can get by from 8 to 3, then work more on the weekend.
I'll be honest, I love JTR on the Lillywhite, but I didn't like the latest concert versions...I won't be too upset with that omission.
Vengeance, I'm going to the San Antonio show this Thursday. I'm leaving from Austin like at 4-4:30. Remember, the show is in Selma, NW of San Antonio. Got my tix off ebay for $62 for the pair, shipped.
RM95 -- my brother-in-law is a disc jockey here in town...i'm hoping he'll come through for me with some tix!! I've never paid for a Dave Matthews concert, thanks to him!! Been to 3!
