Help! Why do I love Tmac's game yet hate Francis game?

This just came across my mind, why do I love Tmac's game yet hate Francis game? Tmac shoots the ball more than Francis, constantly tries to take his defender one on one, and both of their shooting percentages are pretty low.

Of course, when Tmac is on, he's unstoppable. However, even when Tmac shoots bricks after bricks, and making TOs after TOs in his off games, I still want the ball to be in his hand. I never complain about his shots and his decision making. Somehow, it doesn't matter what Tmac do, I always take it and remain his fan. It seems like he can do no wrong in my eyes.

However, when Francis was here, he drove me beyond crazy. Everytime he had the ball, I feel he was going to screw something up. I wanted him to pass the ball to Yao and step out of the way everytime. When he tries to beat his defender one-on-one and get off a shot, I cringe and scream. When he refuse to pass the ball to Yao, I yell "you idiot!" every time.

In Yao's second season, Francis changed his game dramatically under JVG and was willing to be the second option behind Yao. However, it didn't matter that much. I still hated his game.

I am also a Yao supporter, but Yao seemed to disappoint me once a while. However, I can never criticize Tmac. I don't know why. I understand he's not perfect (it shows in his shooting percentage), but he just has this "thing" that prohibits me from disliking him.

Does anyone else have the same feeling? If you do, share your thoughts with me.

It never really occured to me. But I feel the exact same way. Lately I do find myself yelling at the TV screen when T-Mac takes 7 three pointers from 2ft behind the arc, but I think I forgive him because he is streaky and can shoot himself into the game. He never drives or plays to his full defensive capacity UNTIL the playoffs. I know hes gonna be that unstoppable get any shot he wants kind of guy in the post season. Francis didnt have that 2nd gear and the most frustrating thing was the turnovers. I believe he was 4th all time in the history of the NBA in turnovers per game as a Rocket. And Francis almost never controlled the game.

tmac has a more instinctive feel for the game and he's 6'9, thus making it easier for him to get his shot off (giving him better shots). and he doesn't turn it over as much. so he can play a similar game to francis but do it better and thus it isn't as frustrating.

lately, i'm thinking tmac is trying to force the offense. he needs to let the shots come to him. i'm not a tmac only fan....i'm a rox fan. if he has a bad shooting night (philly game), he needs to get the others more involved. the rox went on a run at the beginning of the 2nd qtr in the philly game when tmac was on the bench. he's definately having problems with his shot, but reluctant to take it to the hole......probably b/c of his injured nose.

we shouldn't be be spoiled b/c tmac has won a lot of games going all out shot crazy. i admit that when he's on.....no one can stop him, but when he's forcing shots.....he's got to be blamed for the team's bad performance. luckily, we've won the games of late.

let's hope he piles it on kobe 2nite.

Because Francis is the point guard.

T-mac is sg/sf, swingman type player.

T-mac's good passing and court awareness is a bonus, while francis ability to see the floor and hit the open man is EXPECTED.

Besides, T-mac is just a more spectacular bball player. Francis should not be trying to do what T-mac tried to do. LIke, I won't have a problem if Kobe try to emulate jordan, because Kobe is good. But if like Jerry STackhouse try to emulate jordan, I would think What the hell is he doing?

Because TMAC is amazing. Francis is anothe eye opener, but he isn't a KOBE/TMAC.

Plus, maybe you're a Hater of Francis overall? Haterade?

other than the obvious talent gap between the two,
    t-mac's fundamentals > francis' fundamentals

t-mac knows how to use his teammates, knows how to use picks both on and off the ball, can catch and shoot, can post up, has good court vision, is a good passer, knows how to avoid getting suckered into a charge in the paint when running a break, and doesn't have dribblemania.

all these things frustrated me about francis' game. he did none of these things well.

on the other hand, t-mac's "achilles heel" is his fragile lower back, but that's kind of out of his control, so though it's frustrating, it's not as frustrating as francis' shortcomings were.

McGrady has an easy grace to his game when healthy, that's easier to watch than Francis' high-energy dribble-dribble shot clock beat. Don't get me wrong, SF3 is an incredible talent.

But 13 points is 35 seconds?

You answered your own question. Francis was a good player, played here with a lot of energy, but he instilled no real confidence in his ability to make a game his.

Francis was good, but Tmac can be amazing.

Maybe the intense and ridiculously insane hatred of Francis around here
T-mac is not under the microscope Francis is
    T-mac comes here with a REP . . Francis's was made here
Had you watch T-mac in the early years . . . saw all the warts
before you see the polish . . maybe it would be different

    I know . .. folx think I overrate Francis
    and the hatred of him

Think about this. .. before Francis
you USE to be able to talk about former Rockets in the GARM
    instead of the DISH

if it is placed here. . it skyrockets out of control

Francis-commander of dribblemania- wanted top be a big star to the detriment of the team game.
Tracy Mc Grady - A Star Player who when not injured plays the team game
and tries to make others arround him better.

It's because you know if T-Mac has a bad day, he'll go home to his wife and seek some comfort. If Stevie has a bad day, he goes horseback riding with Cuttino.

because steve took around 23 seconds to take one shot,

and tmac usually does it in about 10...

so the wait isnt as long, and the dissapointment isnt as huge when tmac misses the shot, but when francis does it, it seems like a big ass clunker
