Okay guys, I have just moved into Sugar Land from Austin on Tuesday. I am looking for a place where I can run, lift, and do other miscellaneous exercises. I looked into the 24 Hour Fitness around here, and it is way too expensive. I never realized how expensive those places are. They want to charge a $150 one time fee and $40 monthly fee. Even with that, I am only able to work out at that facility (not at any other 24 Hour Fitness). I am not sure how long I'll stay in Sugar Land, and that's why I feel that it is ridiculous for me to make that kind of monetary commitment. Anyway, I am wondering if you guys know of a cheaper place that has good facilities around Sugar Land, and it'd be a huge plus if the place has some hot broads. Please let me know, thanks!
How about the Y? It is pretty good. There are some hot college babes every once in a while. Or are they highschoolers? Can't tell. Cheap also. (the Y that is). Where are you live in Sugar Land?
I totally forgot about the Y... I played ball there one time I think, and there were some good people there. I'll look into it. Currently, I live in the First Colony area with my parents. I just graduated from UT-Austin, and I need a place to stay where I can study up for LSAT and find a job. I totally miss Gregory Gym in UT, if I knew working out would be THIS expensive, I'd take more advantage of the Greg. You live in SL, Mr. Clutch?
Just checked with the Y. The rates are as such: $75 one time fee, $30 monthly fee, and no contracts. In other words, it's helluvalot more affordable than 24 Hour Fitness. Another plus, is that they have a good basketball gym, and they have some serious ballers. It looks like I'm joining the Y, thanks Mr. Clutch. If you guys have better suggestions, please let me know, I'm open to ideas. Thanks again.
I live in sugar land, and i go to 24hour for workout. i had the summer plan, 96 dollars for 3 months, which is not that bad. but if u wants somewhere cheaper, try the YMCA over CaARTWRIGHT Rd, i think they only cost 25 dollars per month.
Yeah, the monthly fee wasn't as big a problem as the $150 one time fee. I thought that was ridiculous.
Ya, that's why i loved the 24hour's summer plan, i didn't have to pay the $230 one time fee, i hope they make more plan like that.
I used to work for 24 Hour Fitness. It sounds like someone over there was trying to rape you. First of all, make sure you go to the 24 Hour FITNESS, not the Supersport. There's 2 of them in Sugarland and the former is a helluva lot less expensive. Secondly, if you're ok with only working out at that one, they have memberships that cost between 25-27 bucks a month, although it is possible the one time fee could end up being slightly higher than $150. However, if you're cool with only working out 4 days a week, the one time fee is 70-80 bucks and the monthly rate will run you less than $20. If you have any other questions, let me know. I can try and contact some people I used to work with and see if they can offer any sort of discount. This time of year is pretty slow for those places, so they're desperate.
I go to 24 Hour Fitness.....that big blue building right next to the highway.....used to be the Q Club. And you can go to YMCA...where you can play basketball too. And there is Bally Total Fitness....which is.....where you can get your car stolen. Yeah....there's the NRG Wellness Center too.
At this point, basketball is the selling point for me. I'm going to go check out the Y tommorrow, and if everything looks good, I'll sign up.
Yep, but I'm too busy to work out regularly- I have work and class on my plate right now. But I am up for some pickup games on the weekend.
25. Don't let the "Mr." fool you, I just like to be addressed that way. I don't know about "old man" Bernie though. I am out of shape though.
Hey, let me know whenever you want to ball, I'm always down. Oh, btw, I'm 22... Don't let the "Old Man" fool you, I also just liked to be addressed that way.
