    Hey guys and gals,

My wife and I are looking to go on a vacation in early August and we will be, of course, taking along our son who will be 17 months old at the time. Anyone know of good places to vacation at, for probably a week, that my son would really enjoy?

Of course, we have thought of Disney World, but we always said we would wait to go when he is old enough to remember the trip when he is older. As a baby, he'll never remember the vacation.

So, I guess I'm trying to find a good place he would enjoy now but is not so outlandish that we wish later on he had fond memories of. Cause, you never know, if we were to go to Disney World now, it could be his only trip ever.

Anyway, any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

I really don't think a 17-month old can tell the difference between being at home and being on vacation. With that said...

I guess he's too young to leave with his Grandmother. Pity. You guys need the vacation... he won't remember a darn thing. Hey, I've been there and done that. It's tough. If you think you can be careful enough, and I'm sure you can, I'd spend the week at a hotel on the coast. One with great pools and the like. Good luck!

I agree. Do whatever you want because your son will never remember it.
