So, I have a bunch of bees that have started to accumulate on the side of my house. I started noticing them about a month ago, but since they were minding their own business I didn't do anything. Now they have started to multiply and are getting really annoying.

Does anyone know what the best way to get rid of them is?

I tried spraying them with a wasp killing spray, but they just came back after a few days.

How much does an exterminator usually charge to get rid of them? Ive heard that you have to get rid of the hive and cant just spray them dead.

Why do you want to get rid of them? Free honey .. and im talking about the kind that won't give you a STD.

You might have tear that whole siding off to get it out. Not sure you want all that mess rotting in there.

My quick answer: You need to spray something that has a residual effect. I think most of the Raid sprays are formulated instead for quick killing of the insects on contact. Residuals won't kill bugs on contact but are just as fatal. When the insect lands on a surface sprayed by a residual pesticide, they will die within a few minutes.

Actually Raid Wasp & Hornet spray works using on contact and residual action. It's not the same in the original post as it comes in a black can. I'll see if I can Google a pic.

I'll keep this stuff in mind. This summer, we had a lot fewer bugs, flying insects and ants in my yard. I have no idea why.

Years ago there was a spray known as Bengal. Don't know if it's still around. Best residual bug spray ever. Once spraying per summer did the trick.

Hmm, Ill give it a try... Hopefully it kills the queen... At first there were like 50-60 bees flying around, now there are easily over 300

I use it every summer to spray around my house to keep wasps from building nests and other stinging insects away. It hasn't failed me yet. :)

I think I remember seeing Bengal somewhere, maybe at the local feed store.

BTW, the Wasp & Hornet killer comes out in a stream not a spray/mist and it can squirt at something like 25 feet. Be careful because you can use it up pretty quickly.

Spray a good spray, knock them out of there, then fill the holes with a product like "Great Stuff" expanding foam.

I had the same problem a several years ago. My house was like yours, brick bottom and siding above. They had a small swarm at a corner where the brick & siding met. I went out early 1 morning(about 70 degrees) when they weren't active and sprayed the **** out of them. It worked!!

The next year, I noticed a few bees flying around & was concerned. I also noticed they were crawling up inside the siding thru gaps between the siding & brick. One morning I went to get into the car and saw a swarm of bees at the corner that was 1.5ft by 1ft!!! This time I used 2 cans of spray to kill them. I waited about a week then sprayed all the gaps I could see & filled them with spray foam. That did it!!! I forget the name of the foam, but what IROC suggested will probably do the trick.

Contact your county extension agent or a tree service. They can hook you up with a bee keeper. They will come and get them for free.
