Has anyone ever received premium SMS text messages on their phone -- usually some crap like joke of the day, movie info, ringtone info, etc...without even signing up for it? This happened to me last month - out of nowhere I received about 4 messages in a span on 5 minutes - so I replied and said STOP which they did but of course I got charged $9.99 premium SMS charge. I never signed up for this crap and I know that if you do sign up for premium SMS services they usually send you a text with a pin that you have to reply to in order to get activated. Verizon Wireless doesnt want to do anything about it because its charged by a 3rd party - in this case this SMS company is called Nevis Mobile (EnMob) which is not even in the US - they are in Charlestown, Nevis. The website is http://www.enmob.com -- there is a 888 number there which is either always busy or goes to an answering machine and there is an email form which I dont want to use since they can just take my info and send me more spam. The website registration has the following info: Registrant: Nevis Mobile Edith Solomon Building P.O. Box 636 Charlestown, Nevis 99999 KN Domain Name: ENMOB.COM Administrative Contact, Technical Contact: Nevis Mobile nevismobile@gmail.com Edith Solomon Building P.O. Box 636 Charlestown, Nevis 99999 KN 869-469-0224 ---- Does anyone know if any action can be taken against this so called company considering that they are not even in the United States? Maybe I will email Gmail and their domain registrar to let them know that this company or person is a spammer and hopefully they will at least block their email and website. BTW, Verizon supervisor did me a favor and credited the account for this charge but said that they wont do it anymore...so I blocked TXT messaging on all my lines except the primary..
