Im going out of town for 10days, leaving Friday but I have a big worry ...I cant bring my dog with me. I need some suggestions on where I could bring him. I have been by the new lodging place over in Missouri City and I have a lady (that I dont know) that will take care of him for cheaper but neither one Im really high on, whether it be price or having an uneasy feeling. I thought about checking out the lodging place in most PetsMart too. Hell, I have even thought about leaving him home with the cat ...I dont care how much pee & pool there is, atleast I know he is home and safe. I dont want worrying about where he is to ruin my trip, I doubt it will, but it could have an effect. I love my dog to death. If you have any suggestions or places that you have taken your pets while on vacation, please post. Thanks in advance.
You can try to see if you vet boards pets. I find that they are usually cheaper than pet lodging places. They do tend do be more booked though.
You might consider a pet sitter. A good one will not only care for your pet, but also make your place look lived in, collect your mail, etc. I use one for my cats and it works out great.
Yo, Jeff: I know of a couple that is moving to a place that doesn't allow cats and they're looking for a good home for two of them. Would you have any ideas? I can send you the email, if you can think of anyone.
Tell them to email me the info and some pics and I'll send it out to my list. I have a pretty big list of people who forward things out to other pet lovers.
I know a very good place called Barkington Inn. It's in Webster, so I don't know if that's too far of a drive for you, but it's top notch. When I went out of town over the summer I rented my dog a private suite (they're all themed). They take the dogs walking often, they groom them, and keep them entertained all day. Also, if you put your dog in one of the suites, you can actually watch your dog with the webcam connection on their webpage! It's not the cheapest solution, but if you love your dog like you say you do, it's worth it. Here's the website: http://www.barkington.com/
the tworoads email? You got it. Thanks, bro. (I'll even let you boot me for a week if you can find them a home.)
There's a huge place near Katy Mills mall but I can't think of the name. It's new and it looks very nice.
I was wondering if any place had an online webcam. That would be real nice as the thought came to my mind...it woud make me feel real easy is I could just check in on him, wherever he is. Thanks! I might check it out. As far as checking the vet, the couple places I checked, dont seem good enough. (Call me picky) But if Im going on vacation I want him to kinda have one and not be in a small cage most of the time, which is what I have seen from the few vets I have checked out.
Pris' Pets in Westbury is where we used to kennel our dog when I was a kid, and they are still in business.
