Wierd..boot up today and MediaPlayer's position is OFF the right side of the desktop. Cannot see it or move it. Can maximize, but that does not help me. It's not the monitor setting, tried it on 2 monitors. Also, when I maximize programs, they are not past the end of the desktop as I see it. I searched the registry wondering if the startup x,y position would jump out at me, but I did not notice it (I just searched using 'MediaPlayer') Ideas? Thx
can you post screenshots of the problem? Hit "PRINT SCREEN" and then open MS paint and hit "CTRL V" to past it. Save it as a jpeg and then upload it to www.imageshack.us and post here.
Alt+Tab until you're on the Windows Media Player Window focus. (selected on taskbar). ALT+Space_Bar+M -> move the left arrow to move the window into view. Press ENTER when you want to stop moving it. OR If you're lazy and don't want to try the above method, Right-click the taskbar. Select "Cascade Windows". All restored and maximized windows will return to the desktop view.
Good suggestions...they worked on all of my other windows, but MediaPlayer still would not move into view and would not cascade (tried to cascade it from minimized, maximized, and custom windows).
Ok... got it. On it's right-click menu on the toolbar icon, it had a move option which would not work w/ the mouse since the mouse's pointer would only go to the right end of the desktop, which was not far enough. But when I selected move and hit the left arrow a few times, the player suddenly popped onto the screen (not slowly...which makes me think that MS developers expected this problem...looked like some code was there to help fix it once you experiment long enough) Thanks...I wouldn't have thought that the arrow would work.
WTF??? Why are you looking for that x,y stuff? Why do you think it would have that? Did you enable Windows Media Player toolbar mode? Right-click task bar, select toolbars, look for Windows Media PLayer toolbar... does that help at all? You still need to capture the screen... maybe it's not there, and you think it is... capture the screen with the Task Manager's processes up... look for WMPLAY or something like that in there listed... You need the PowerToys for Xp that allow you to view the program window as you "Alt+Tab" through their windows...
