Okay.... I don't have much to do for a while now that I am currently jobless and passing time till I once again fly outa here.

I want to know from CC.net'ers POV, of which games to buy.

I am can't make up my mind, True Crime or Far Cry.

They are both the same price....

Is True Crime any good? It looked good and I loved the GTA games on PS2, and they look similar. I have read reviews from aroud the net etc. I am about to refresh my memory by looking through them.

Is Far Cry really as good as advertised?

hmmm....I just watched the Stros lose another game, and well I need something to take my mind off of it.

I just finished reading and looking at a lot of pics of the new Grand Theft Auto game, and damn that thing looks so danm good. I can't wait till it comes out....October. That and the Sony SP which comes out in the spring....anyways. Blah. I am babbling....

    well, any insight?

I thought TC was vastly inferior to GTA. I have never played Far Cry, but I have also never heard a bad thing said about it. I don't think my computer has the juice to make Far Cry wothwhile, but I wouldn't recommend True Crime.

my computer can't handle farcry but my friend has it and it's REALLY sweet. i rented true crime on x-box but wasn't that impressed.

go with farcry if you're sure you can play it.

hmmm, thanks. I am starting to think that Far Cry would be the way to go.

Because TC is set in a city and there are many objects you can interact with (cars etc.), it seems that the replay value would be high.

Dude, Far Cry takes place on a huge island, is first person, and you can literaly go EVERYWHERE.

In Far Cry, what is the main "enemy"? I have seen a lot of pictures of monsters and soldiers.

Which do you meet in the game more often?

    Far Cry, hands down.

Great shooter. Mix of environments (even though it takes place on islands), good AI and different types of enemies. (Soldiers and monsters)

True Crime tried to be like GTA, but I played the console version (pretty much the same as the PC I think) and it was nowhere close.

    Far Cry.

But be sure to have a video card that is minimum 128MB AGP. Mine wouldn't run on 64MB 4x AGP. This has some major graphics.

I don't know anything about Far Cry, but I can say that True Crime fell FAR short of my expectations. Graphically, I found it amazing. The gameplay was pretty good, and the HUGE gameplay area (as in the city of Los Angeles itself) blew my mind, but I found the game itself vastly inferior to GTA and the replay value is a big fat ZERO, imho.

I've heard great things about Far Cry. Might pick it up myself, actually.

Far Cry is beautiful, but if you're the kind of person who isn' t wowed by graphics, there's some sketchy AI that might bother you down the line.

On the other hand, True Crime is a fun game but, for me at least, I kept expecting it to play as well as GTA. Which it doesn't.

The choice is yours, Neo :)

Thanks for yall's input. I picked up Far Cray from Best Buy.

My card is handling it pretty well, I jsut don't have everything set to high quality.

I have a 128mb graphics card nvidia. I am hoping to purchase the Nvidia 6800 card, I have the 5200.
