OK...I have a situation here. My girlfriend's son turns 15 on Thanksgiving. He wants a Nintendo Wii, but doesn't expect to get it. I have been busting my butt trying to get my hands on one at launch so he can have it. I have had no luck. Toys R Us seemed to be my last, best shot, but I was shut out. So I turn to my fellow BBSers. If anybody knows how I can get hold of one of these, please let me know. Thanks, ya'll
You might be getting shut out right now because pre orders are limited. Not all stores do pre orders. That's all I'll say though, cause I'm gonna try and get one myself
Yeah, only preorders have been going out right now. Stores like Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc., don't do preorders, and they'll have them for sale on launch day. Best Buy and Walmart will probably get the most per store, although they'll probably get more people in line too. I'm working on a Wii Launch thread that I'll try to get posted soon. I'm hoping that will help people find out the best way to get a Wii come launch day.
I dont know why you guys didn't go to your Toys R Us this morning. You could have came an hour before the store opened for the preorder.
http://wii.clambert.org/ this is a wii locator, it will tell you how many any target store has in stock based on the zipcode, it's not much but it is helpful...and it's also interesting to note just how many some of these stores are getting...I was surprised to be honest -- but then again we do live in a huge city. hope it is of some use.
I don't think Wal-Marts do pre-orders and they usually have some of the biggest allotments. I'd find a 24 hour Wal-Mart that will put them up for sale at midnight and campout the day before. That'll probably get you one. Also, its risky, but is has worked for me in the past...often if you drive out to smaller town Walmarts, you can pick them up the day of release off the shelf. I've did this with several hot toys and gadgets at the tiny Walmart in Edna Texas.
