IIRC, it is basically the same thing as Basic.(a beginner programming language)

you should be able to find tuts on Basic easily.

It's a programming language using the basic syntax that shipped with DOS. It's pretty old and probably not used much any more.

Wikipedia article - It has a breif overview with links to other sites about it.

I'm curious as to why on earth you would be interested in that particular programming language?

    thats a helluva question tiger

It is difficult to even find much on the original BASIC language...the Wikipedia entry was the first one I could find that wasnt Visual Basic( BASIC programming with a user interface)

Visual Basic is what you want if you are interested in learning basic(as in beginner) programming.

Maybe if you could say why you want to know, we could better answer what you need

Well, that'll be a question I'll have to ask my sister. She's the one needing the info....I decided to be a good brother and help out.

So this was the first place I came....I figured there's no better place to find the info then here. She'll be home from college in a few minutes....I'll ask her what's up.

And for the YoYao's of the forum, no you cannot have her phone number. ;)

I don't know Qbasic but has she tried "yes"? Seriously, some times it's just like that. Like how some languages use substr() and others make you spell out substring()

She has typed "Y". Has she typed "y"? "YES"? "yes"?

Also, how is she running the program? Is it an "executable"? Even if it is you MAY be able to have a look at some of it via wordpad. See if there are any strings. For example, you should be able to see the character string "redo from start". You may also be able to see what the program expects as input.

    Go here for more info:

This deserves a new thread. I am willing to add some "effin" comments myself, too.

Yeah, you won't say that when you're married, though... :D "B*tches nowadays." :D nice...

I'm curious why you don't google this. No one in this forum could possibly be getting paid to develop using QBasic.

that is true, but considering the sheer amount of computer science geeks and former geeks in this forum, it isnt unreasonale to expect that a thread posted for info would yield results.

I understand why he didnt directly google for info....he probably wouldnt have understood what he found...being a non-compsci type...so asked for it explained in a way that could be easily understood.

now....at this point...she needs to spend some time at the link that was provided to refresh her memory as to what she shoudl do next....there aint a whole lot we can do to help short of seeing the source code ourselves.
