A bit of a dubious thread for GARM, but I need to see the Rockets tonight. The situation is getting mighty worrisome and I need the help of the biggest audience possible.

Time Warner Cable in Austin has still not authorized the League Pass Preview on my cable box for some reason. Usually these preview weeks come on fine, but this time they still have not activated the service. I complained last night to no avail. Now they are coming up with a rather novel story about how you have to buy the league pass package to get the free preview! I told them that made no sense and after sticking to my guns they are looking into it further.

Is there anyone out there with TWC that has NOT purchased league pass - and IS receiving the free preview just fine? How about in Austin? If I can point to other customers in town getting the free preview and that have not paid for the league pass package already, that would be real nice ammo to have. TIA, folks.

I am getting the free NBA League Pass Preview fine on my TV as of last night. I have the DVR digital cable box just to let you know what service I have. Maybe they operate things differently in Austin, but just tell them that most Houston TWC customers that you have talked to are getting this for FREE...

I too, had the same problem last night with TWC in Pasadena, CA. I didn't call them about it, but I'm pretty pissed that I might not be able to see my Rockets play tonight. TWC is terrible.

Good news - TWC has just called me back and they claim to have rectified the situation. Can't check on this right now to confirm it's working, but if anyone has problems like me, call them ASAP - reported the issue last night, and it took them four additional hours today to get the bureaucracy to straighten things out.

I still love how they originally thought I would just accept the explanation that in order to get a free preview you have to pay! :D

Guess that's their normal mindset at TWC, lol.

I have DirectTV, and was curious as to how I would gain access to the NBA TV free preview? Do I need to call DirectTv for it?

    T-2,

You're talking about the channels in the 900 range right? I just checked now and they're working (last night they werent available). However, the guide doesn't show what games they're playing tonight, so I'm not fully sure if the rockets will be shown.

btw I have digital cable TWC-Austin

Update in California: games will be shown tonight. Great news. But when I look at the schedule of games, they list every single game EXCEPT for the Sac/Hou game. Great...guess I'll just wait and see.

This is a bit off topic, but the talk of TWC Austin brings up sad story :(

Looked into getting the league pass but TWC (time warner cable, not the weather channel) won't transfer the league pass when I move out of state (most likely in two months). Tried to get a dish, which would transfer our league pass for us when we move, but installation guy couldn't find a place for us to get a signal because of a big building next door.

Yep, the 911-920 channels - they weren't working at all this morning (or last night), so I gave them some more grief this morning and it appears to have done the trick. If you are not seeing tonight's schedule on those channels yet, that is odd, but I'm not too worried (yet). I can't verify on my box yet, as I'm not home right now.

It's cool to know my persistence with TWC has helped all the other Rox fans in town tonight.

Does anyone know if the NBA League Pass will show all or at least most of the Rocket's games when they are not shown on TNT or ESPN? If so, I might want to get the League Pass then.

It's expensive, but yes, you'll see almost all Rockets games (in Austin, we miss only a handful, if that). The League Pass usually did not include NBA-TV games, but ask your provider whether buying League Pass gives you NBA-TV this year. If you live in Texas, try asking your provider to be sure about what league pass restrictions are in your area for Rockets games.
