    Here’s the scenario....

I got a job at the Tex Med Center on Wednseday at the Hermann Professionals building on Fannin across form TCH.....but they don’t have free on-site parking...I cant imagine why not? But for the money, Ill happily deal with this issue....

I live on Kuykendahl just south of 1960.

I'm not too familiar with the Med Center area. Does anyone know of any cheap and safe parking lots near the Hermann Professional building/ TCH area? If not there, maybe a cheap lot on Main, and Ill just ride the train.....

Ideally, I would like to do the Park and Ride method to save on gas since my truck drinks gas like a fat kid drinks Kool-Aid. But I can’t seem to find a Park and Ride bus at either the Spring or Kuykendahl locations that will shuttle me directly to the Tex Med Center. Most of the options Ive seen on Metros website require transfers and drive times of 2 hours! Does anyone know of a Park and Ride bus that goes directly from the Kuykendahl P&R to the Tex Med Center? My work schedule is M-F 8a-5p

    Any help much appreciated.....

I did mention that was my preference to save on gas.....but like I posted earlier, I cant find a direct bus from the Kuykendahl P&R station to the Tex Med Center on Metros website.

All routes they gave me in my search required transfers and had drive times of around 2 hours or more.

Are you serius Kam.....I live near Bush Intercontinental Airport. If I commute to the West Loop P&R just to catch a bus to the Med Center, I might as well drive to the Med Center myself.

Take the Kuykendahl P&R bus to downtown, get off at one of the light rail stops, and take that to the med center.

Yep, I was trying to avoid transfers but that was the most favorable option...

Anyone know how long it will take to get to the Med Center if I do this?

Well that all depends on when you leave, and when you get to your office... :D

The train portion alone will take 15-20 minutes from downtown.

There are multiple lots/garages that you can buy monthly parking passes for. If you are interested in that route, I can let you know which garages. But expect to pay at least $100/month.

But I beleive the "official" TMC recommendation is people must park at the Smith Lands parking lots and take the train two stops up. IIRC, that is the cheapest parking option.

Back to your park-n-ride idea. While it requires a transfer and takes you an extra 20 minutes from downtown, you'll have spent 20 minutes DRIVING past downtown to park at the Smith Lands lot (since there is no quick way to get there off the freeway). So if you did park-n-ride, at least you can relex on your commute to work and you don't pay for gas or parking.
