Anybody know what it's going to cost me to get a new ignition put on my 96 Jeep Cherokee? The key's been sticking a little and now it won't start at all. And the ignition feels a little wonky. I figure that's the problem. Trying to figure out now what I'm looking at to get it fixed. Also wondering if anyone knows a mechanic that might be able to do it today.

Is it your actual ignition where you place they key, or is it that your car doesn't start properly?

I had ignition problems a couple months ago and it turned out to be the starter that was the problem. It was fairly easy to fix myself, all I did was purchase a rebuilt starter off ebay for about 90 bucks(was going for 300 at the stealership) and installed it. Was a fairly simple procedure, only had to remove 2 bolts to detach the starter.

Thanks for the reply. I think it's the ignition itself because it feels a little loose and the key's been sticking in it. Doesn't seem like the starter would cause that.
