Every hour or so my connection gets disconnected for a second and gets back on again. This is *frequent* and absolutely annoying. Especially when I am trying to download something, the "disconnected" icon pops up on the bottom right of my screen for a millisecond and then I have to start over. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone know how to fix it? My connection is DSL.
thats been happening to me as well.. it shows that my connection is there [the computer icon in the bottom right corner is blinking which means its on] but i dont get the actual internet connection. I have a laptop and a desktop.. and it happens on both. it goes off for like 1 min-5 min.. it gets annoying especially when you're doing something important like paying bills or applying places.
It's been happening to me too. SBC/Yahoo DSL? Seems to be working right for the last two hours though.
could be a router issue, connect your computer directly to the modem and see if it still happens, if it solves the problem then you either need to tweak the settings in your router or geta new one. If it still persists, then you should probably call the DSL folks and get them to run a test on your line.
What he said. I had a problem w/ my cable internet when I first had it installed. Turned out that they had to tweak the installation to give me a constant connection. But try connecting directly to the modem first to test it out.
