I use a DSL provider and have experienced problems in the past, but not like this. Websites are loading so SLOW!!! Except Clutchfans for some reason... this site is loading fast compared to other sites. Also, my AIM messenger seems to be loading normally (checking profiles). Does anyone know anything I can do about this? Could it be my internet explorer itself? No, it's the same thing with Firefox. Help please. thanks.
I use AOL so it came with a program that scans all that. But before that, I was using spybot search and destroy. http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html
I'm having problems too, hooked up our router for our slingbox, and I can't watch any youtube videos or download anything beyond 20%.... sucks. oh...and I can't get my fix of pron! NOES!
Hmm....try this. Download the link to pc spyware doctor. That's what I use.... http://forums.bcgamers.net/index.php?showtopic=225 it's not a free program but that's a cracked version....
Use the following, they're all free. (google them) Spybot Search & Destroy Lavasoft's Adaware Spyware Blaster Microsoft Antispyware/Windows Defender/whatever they call it now
It's still very slow... But it seems to be only my browser. My latency for CS:Source looks normal at 60-70. Yet loading websites is extremely slow. Aghhh
i think ur DNS servers are acting up. when u type the web address in..DNS servers convert it to numbers. like www.google.com is http://72.14.203.147/ press Start, Run, type command...then in there type "ping www.google.com" without the quotes. the result on the bottom..my average is 47ms. see what urs is. try typing diff addresses. if the address pings out, type the number one "ping 72.14.203.147"
oh man..thats horrible. anything more than like 250 is noticeable. did the number one make a diff? or was it just as slow? this kind of stuff only your ISP can fix. this has nothing to do with spyware or virus. you're dropping packets somewhere in between ur modem and ur ISP.
The number one is just as slow. I guess I have to call tech support eh? Thanks for your help by the way... I would have done something stupid like restoring my PC.
If certain sites are going slow but not others, its generally a problem with your router from my experience. Restart it. Actually first unplug your modem, and then unplug your router. Then plug the modem back in till all the lights are back to normal. When that occurs, then plug your router back in.
Use OpenDNS servers instead of whats provided by your ISP. You should see some improvement. http://opendns.com/start/
