My fujitsu is having screen problems, and after replacing the inverter with no improvement to its problems, I've decided that its my last straw and I will have to get a new one. this is what I have: http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/notebooks/0,39023985,10004500,00.htm I'm looking for something very portable, as I bring it to class everyday, so I like it light. Speed at least 1.4ghz, Ram and HD are not an issue as I will just be swapping my old HD and RAM. I don't know if i can swap the wireless card. Don't need a big screen or anything. I don't use my computer for games, just internet and the occasional dvd. Don't want to go overboard, so anything between $700 and $1200. Suggestions? I know people here check the tech sites often, I'd like to know what the fellow experts think.
If you want to save money, I heard BestBuy gonna have this laptop on sell for $500 bucks starting on 2/12. Not bad for a door buster.

Personally, I'm both a student and a DJ, and I'm gettin a new laptop next week. I needed something good for school, while having the speed and memory to carry my dj applications and etc. I'm going to be picking up an external 300 GB HD (going for good deals @ around $100-150) which I feel is the best route, instead of carrying around 150 GB in my laptop and making it too heavy. I'm going with this one, I shopped around for the best price, and it's got literally everything I need. I'm also gonna upp it's memory to 1 Gig, and I should be set. ------------------------------------------ TOSHIBA R15-S829 Tablet PC w/ Centrino 1.70GHz; 512MB; 80GB; DVDRW DL; 14.1"XGA TFT; 802.11b/g TOSHIBA The Satellite® R15 Tablet PC combines advanced notebook power with the practicality and comfort of pen and paper. Tablets are overrated... But i cant complain about that price, but once you add 100 dollars to the price for ram, your sitting on the edge of a ok price, nothing spectacular.
What's the cheapest you've seen for the 300 GB external? TigerDirect.com has this pretty sweet deal of a 250 GB Seagate w/ an enclosure for 89.99 after a $60 rebate. Seen anything better? Personally, for me, adeelsiddiqui is right. I buy computers so I don't have to read my ugly ass hand writing.
