Hey guys. Today is a great day for me. I just weighed myself and since December of last year till today I have lost 40 lbs and dropped from 224 to 183 (I'm 5'11). I know that I have lost more fat because I have been rotating between cardio y weight training every other day, eating 6 meals of complex carbs, protein and veggies and drinking tons of water and have noticed a significant amount of muscle growth. Im to the point now that I have reached the sufficient muscle mass that I have been looking for. My arms are pretty thick now as are my legs. Now what I want to do is continue with the cardio and switch my weightlififting routine to something that will help me get more cut and no so much focus on muscle growth. I have the muscle now, so the goal is to chisel it. My workout now consists of chest, back, shoulders, biceps and triceps one day, cardio the next, then quads, hams, calves and abs the day after that, then back to cardio. I am doing the inverse pyramid routine starting out with lighter weight at 12 reps, then steadily increasing weight doing 10, 8, and 6 reps, ending with a burnout of 12 reps not resting and doing another 12 reps of a different excercise working out the same muscles. Can someone reccommend to me a great technique to become chisled and not grow too much more muscle mass? Thanks
getting cut has everything to do with diet, not workout. you still need to focus on weight training to just maintain your level of muscle mass when losing weight.
I think this guy's kind of interesting: http://www.MattFurey.com... I am in no way fit, but I got on this guy's email list and still read him once in a while. Does anybody have an opinion about him?
After 6 months of doing Tiki Barber's "Pure Hard Workout" - I just started the "Strong Lifts" program - it is supposed to work wonders. I'm just starting week 2 - the difference is you add a small amount of weight to all of your core workouts (squat, deadlift, overhead press, bench press) every time you hit the gym. www.stronglifts.com
