Phone experts, I'm looking for a new QWERTY based smartphone. I like the keyboard size of most of the Blackberries, but was wondering if other smart phones out there have keyboards of the same size. I have an Nokia E63 as well, but the keyboard is too small compared to my older generation Blackberry 8700g series. Looking for a Blackberry without the actual trackball. I think they make the Blackberry 8520 with a 4 sided key pad instead of trackball, right? So I'm trying to find a new Blackberry or a similar smartphone (PALM, Nokia etc..) with a keyboard as big as the Blackberry. Not looking for any touch screen phone. Price range is $200 and below. I've seen some new, unlocked phones on Ebay for that price range, but wasn't sure what was the best option and if it fit the criteria I was looking for. Thanks.
How many post before some smartass insist you get an iPhone because a touch screen keyboard is so much better?
My company has provided me with a Blackberry for years (currently, I have a Bold) ... ...and I don't see why anyone would pay money for these pieces of crap. Really, the bb has always been an email device that they've added other features to, and has never been good at anything other than email (and I'm not even impressed with it as an email device, really). My bro and his wife were considering bb's and I steered them away. They got iphones and have been very, very happy with them. Blackberry is crap.
Well, hang on. I never endorsed the iphone - I honestly have never even touched one, so I don't know a thing about 'em. All I'm saying is that Blackberries are garbage.
If you want these type of QWERTY keyboards and no touchscreen in the $200 range: Motorola Q9H Samsung BlackJack II
Have you checked out the Nokia e71x? Keyboard is smallish but not sure how it compares to the E63. I got a refurbished one for $50.
Can somebody explain to me why BBM is so great? G-Chat seems like it would be the obvious choice. Sure, not everybody has a Google account, but being able to communicate with other people who don't have BBs gives it an advantage.
It's always on (you don't have to sign in or out) You can send files, pictures, voice notes, etc. You can create groups where you can chat, have group calendars, send pictures, etc. Every message lets you know if it's been sent, delivered, and read Lastly, it's all free
