My wifes brother is looking for a car and is having a hard time finding one with the price tag of $1,000. He lives up near 45 N but I live in Sugar Land. Anyone have any ideas or recommendations? I know $1,000 is not a lot for a car but coming from his situation and their background, its a start to get himself on his feet. If there is one thing I do not have a clue about, its cars so again any help would be much appreciated. I believe right now hes looking at a 1997 Altima. Any reviews on this one?

Thanks. I found it cheap as well so my immediate thought was 'Whats wrong with it?' but like I said, I have no clue about cars to know what to look for.
