I was born in Houston. I only lived there for like a month. I haven't been back in like 5 years. I'm going to Houston tomorrow with my dad. We have tickets to the Magic game and I just realized that the Rockets also play a hoe game tomorrow against the Nets! For some reason I thought that that was the game I was going to because I looked at the schedule a couple weeks back. I didn't notice the Orlando game which is what I actually have tickets to.

Anyways my dad and I want to go to the Nets game. Our flight leaves Philly at 3:15 Houston time. Southwest.com says it gets in at 7:10 Houston time. Is that really accurate? Without any problems wouldn't a flight from Philly to Houston just be a little over 3 hours instead of close to 4?

Anyways the Rockets game started at 7:30. My dad and I aren't checking any luggage and we'll have a rental from Hertz ready when we get there. Is Hobby airport really just 15 minutes from the Toyota Center and how is the parking and everything? I'm just kind of paranoid cause I'd love to make it on time.

It's more like 30 minutes from Hobby with no traffic. Honestly, with parking and all I'd say if you're flight lands at 7:10, expect to be in you seat around 8:15 at best.

From Hobby to the Toyota Center it will take 15-18 minutes. Just take Airport Blvd east to I-45 and head North on the freeway and take the downtown exit. There shouldn't be much, if any, traffic at all on your drive downtown.

Even if it takes 15 min. driving time, which I find doubtful, the landing time is the time the plane touches down. You're still dealing with time deplaning getting luggage, getting to the rental car pick up area, driving, then looking for parking, and then getting from parking to TC. At the minimum I'm guessing you won't get there until well into the 2nd quarter.

yeah but i don't have to pick up luggage. I'm just bringing carry on. It says the plane lands at 7:10 but don't some airlines give a later time so that the chance that their flight arrives late is small? I could swear it only takes 3:25 to fly to Houston from Philly instead of 3:55.

That depends on the line at Hertz. I had to wait about 15 minutes at the Hertz next to the Denver airport last week, not to mention the ten minutes or so it took to get to their lot. It seems like the Hertz in the Houston airport is different though, so I don't know.

I got to my seat around 7:50. My flight arrived about 10 minutes early. I sat down with 5 minutes left in the 1st quarter.
