have a good friend tape them and mail them to you, then you get them converted to PAL format...

uh... better yet, just take A-Train's suggestion.

Turn the tv on when you get to England and pray you catch the 2003 NBA Playoffs between the Nets and Rockets!

C-Band does not offer NBA league pass. Most likely you will be SOL if you want to see games on any kind of regular basis.

Why wouldn't directTV be able to work in England? That's seems like it would be the easiest solution, unless you're living in an apartment and don't have anywhere you can put a satellite.

Yeah, I'd give it a whirl...I heard that Cricket matches take about six days to complete, or something like that...

Well there are two forms of Cricket - the five day version (also called "tests") and the one day version.

England is currently playing a visting Indian Test side. England just won the first test by thumping India.

Cricket is the only sport that I would rank ahead of basketball. Test Cricket matches take five days. Those are rather boring. ODI (One Day International) matches are the way to go. They typically last about 6-7 hrs.

    Baseball was derived from Cricket.

Didn't mean to offend any cricket fans out there. Just a matter of taste. I happen to like soccer. But no cricket please.

Well, if Michael Jordan loves golf, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that basketball fans like cricket.:) Oops, I am offending the golf fans now!:(

Good luck. I'm in London and the main satellite provider, SKY Networks (which is owned by RuPRICK Murdoch of Fox fame) does not have an NBA package. There are occasionally games on but since most start at night in the US they are on around 2 or 3 in the morning. Occasional afternoon games are usually on during the season. Same with baseball although they do have one game a week on a night. NFL is really the only one you can watch as the games are on at a reasonable 6pm and 9 pm here and you can get two game doubleheaders on Sunday. No NFL or NBA package like Direct TV.

Oh I'm not offended at all. A 6-7 hour sporting event is not everyones cup of tea. :)

Because I think that the DirecTV satellites hover over North America, I do not think it is offered in other countries.
