    I need to help my son create some charts for a science fair project, and I can't teach him if I'm clueless.

    I'd like to make a bar graph.

    The data we took was this. These aren't exact numbers, but they are relatively correct.

    We first inflated a standard basketball and mini basketball to 6 lbs of air pressure.

    We then dropped each ball three times from a height of 3 feet and took the measurement at the bottom of the ball...24" for the mini ball. 22" for the standard.
    Then moved the drop height to 5 feet...42" for mini ball and 36" for the standard ball.

    We then upped the air pressure to 8 lbs and rechecked.

    At 3 feet
    Mini=32"
    Large = 27"

    At 5 feet
    Mini=46"
    Large=39"

    My question is, how do I set up excel to produce these bar graphs?

    Thanks

    Go to 'Insert' and then choose 'Chart'

    You should be able to highlight your data and click the chart button. This will load the wizard with your data attached.

    Do it as a column. Something like this:

    In Cell A2 type Ball 1 in Cell A3 type Ball 2 (or however you want the two different balls labeled) in Cell B1 type Height 1 and in C1 type Height 2 (or however you want the heights labeled. then you just have to fill in the results of your findings in cells B2-B3 and C2-C3. After that go to insert chart and the chart wizard should set up a chart for you based on the heights each ball bounced.

    edit: If you meant you need to change colors, titles etc. in the chart... Then just double click the colored area and it will let you change the color. the other stuff can be adjusted using the chart toolbar.
